I am very grateful .It is a very beginner friendly and so much explanation made every step so easy that I solved some of my previous problems that I was staked into. Keep giving us this type of tutorial in English voice over that we can keep upgrading and know everything.

Had no idea you could move your shape layer around while resizing it... Just holding the Spacebar while resizing is all it took. Blew my mind! Thanks for that insight.

This video is so well done, you took the time to explain how the shapes should transform point to point. I had so many questions at the begining of the video but at the end everything was so clear. Love this channel!

You could just import the illustrator file as a composition, select all the layers and right click > Create… shapes from layers. Much easier to get all your vectorised shapes in
@plainlysimple
Жыл бұрын
Yes that also works. But I usually work in a team, and I usually get the illustration from someone else. And usually the way it's being made is not optimized for animation and sometimes it's grouped in a way that doesn't translate well in AE. So right click -> Create shapes from layers would be the harder option. And recreating it from scratch, in this case, is the easier move. But yes that could also work.

There are some situations where it is best to start from scratch in AE. You’ve done the most in-depth tutorial I’ve seen on morphing.

Greaaat tutorial! Thankyou! I have one question, @ 26:38 how did you do you moved the Noodles layer's timeline to quickly move it where the Playback Arrow is? I think that shortcut would help people to fasten their works. (And I think it's basic but I still don't know it yet)

4:38 why u manually recreate the path at AE? I mean, actually u can automatically recreate the path
@plainlysimple
3 жыл бұрын
Usually, we work with illustrators that aren't part of our team, like let's say from another studio. And the way they make their illustrations and how they place their points and the number of points is different than how we would visualize it to animate. If they group them in Ai or have expanded their strokes etc. that would also be different and most of the time, the most time-efficient way is just to recreate it.
@plainlysimple
3 жыл бұрын
And although I did illustrate this and would not encounter any problems if I just convert to shapes, there's another reason why I didn't. So that I could demonstrate how to use the pen tool to create those shapes. Sometimes as teachers we demo in a certain way so that the discussion would flow much better. So if you're a beginner, whether you convert it to shapes or create your own you'll do just fine because you know the overall concept. I hope I was able to explain this well via a comment.

Why not convert them all to shape layers?
@anaskhan2704
3 жыл бұрын
Maybe to manually set vertices where needed, right?
@plainlysimple
3 жыл бұрын
Yes :) Because it's not all the time that you would be the one to illustrate and animate. And you don't know how the illustrator made that illustration, maybe they grouped it, merged the shapes etc. and the resulting vertices could be messy. I've found that it's just quicker to recreate it.

Pero si ya tenías el vector con las formas pra que volver a hacerlo en af? Cuál es la lógica ?
@plainlysimple
2 жыл бұрын
It's because different illustrators have different ways to illustrate. So if you're working in a team chances are the number of points and where they are placed are not what you want it to be, so I find it much faster to just recreate them.
