So my biggest problem with the G6 for motion time lapse is that instead of select a time for rotation speed that is for the entire movement, they make you set that speed PER pan and tilt. This is BAD because depending on the starting and ending position you select, it almost always finishes either pan or tilt before it gets to the end. I want a straight line from my start point and end point. In your video, you see that happen where the tilt finishes first but the pan isn't done yet, so it has to keep panning while the tilt is already done and no longer moving. To me, that makes this TOTALLY USELESS. Even the G5 doesn't do this. My Snoppa Atom, Osmo Mobile 2, G5, Crane-m, and Osmo Pocket do not do this. On each of those, when you set a starting and ending point, it will create a straight line between the two points, so that your pan and your tilt end at the exact same time for a professional looking movement. To accomplish a straight A to B path on the G6, you would have to calculate exactly what rotation speeds to set, and then hopefully you precisely set your starting and end point, because the G6 is not calculating anything for you, it seems, starts "Auto Rotating" (thus the stupid name they give it) at the speeds you set and stops when it gets to the end point. That means that this manufacturer is completely out of touch with the Use Cases of their customers.

I have the same problem. I contacted tech support and they told me that its normal: "the gimbal dont do a straigh line from point A to point B.
@Hangs4Fun

@@seigerem well that is crap. I also have the G5, the model right before this one and it does a straight line. In fact on the G5 you cant set the pan time and the tilt time, you can only set one time. Then when you set start and end, it divides the diff by the time so they do a straight line. Sad thing here is, how out of touch they are on what this gimbal should do. Would be a simple fix for them to make in firmware, but clearly who ever used to know what they were doing has left the company.

I'm so glad I found these comments. I was going crazy thinking I was doing something wrong with autorotation because I could never get the tilt and pan to end at the same time. When I contacted Feiyu, their explanation was that if the degrees of movement for tilt and pan were different from each other, then they would never be able to end at the same time. How in the world are you able to match degrees for pan and tilt? I've even tried entering different times for pan and tilt, thinking that this would solve the problem, but nothing changed. Why do they have different duration settings, if degrees of movement supersede any time durations that you set? Has anyone mastered this problem so you can use the shot from beginning to end?

@@abqdor I just went back to using my G5 which makes a "B line" for your end point, and sold the G6. Sad really, they had a good product and then f'ed it up with software and being out of touch with their customers yse case.

Hi, Which app are you using? I am having a hard time getting the gimbal to listen to me. Sometimes it starts the movement from the opposite direction as I had indicated with the start-stop position. Also it tilts up all the time I am trying to set up these positions and even after I succeed in doing a short auto-rotate, it ends it by tilting up endlessly.
@cdh79
6 жыл бұрын
what i don't like with having to set up the tilt and rotation speed individually is that most of the time one of them ends sooner than the other one (like in your example), so it's not a continuous movement on both axis from the starting point to the end-point .. i wish they could address this somehow, so you don't have to calculate the right (independent) speeds individually for each axis..
@jameshow8672

new version of app dosn't have the set up as you show, much less features. Plus you set it to 30seconds and it moves through the motion far quicker. my gimble does the same, phase time is rubbish, plus the gimble resists the movement to set start and stop so you create a bad flow path when setting it. All in this gimble is rubbish for timelapse as FeiyuTech have rubbish software.

Thank you for the upload. I have bought a G6 and try to shoot a motion time-lapse just as you did. I can connect to the Feiyu On app but when i go to settings>autorotation mode rate most of the time a get the ' failed to read parameter, Retry?' pop up. Sometimes it wel let me connect but if i want to change the speed i get the same error. I managed to save my speed a few times, but when i set up the rotation manually, it will rotate but much faster than the set speed and it won't go back to the neutral mode but instead it wil rotate by its own in all kinds of positions....have you got any idea how to fix this bug?

I am testing the FeiyuTech G6 Plus and wn size and weight seems ideal, for compact medium format cameras. But I find it unacceptable that the mode selector button clicks an explosive noise every time you press it and it appears in the recordings. I honestly do not understand it from FeiyuTech that has not placed a button that does not make noise when pressed. This together that the movement of the zoom is not fluid makes it return the product. I tried it with the lumix lx-15 which I could not synchronize at all. With the sony a6300 it synchronizes but the zoom is not fluid it jumps. With any camera have you tried and that the zoom function smoothly? or better go to another manufacturer ...

Gimbals are not made for motion time lapse unless everything is moving inside the shot in a madness clip. The minimum angle of rotation is not small enough to get a soft transition like in costly pro gear (tens or hundreds of a degree), that is why it is jerky and can not be repaired in any way. Manufacturers know it but still use it as a tool to sell because most buyers do not understand, do not complain, are amateurs or use the gimbal only for what it is intended to do but...internet accepts anything. Everyday a deers goes out, whoever hunts it, owns it.
