Yes! I've been trying to change my mindset to focus on how valuable and worth it all the different homemaking tasks are. Warm meals, a tidy home, and clean clothes all go a long way in making our families feel loved❤️

This is convicting in the fact dinner meals are cooked by my husband 4 days out of the week. We are in a season of both working full time. I desire to be in the kitchen more. As I decided this morning to stop my starter as I can’t feed at same times like before. Grateful for conviction from God to be in the home more and do hard things that will ultimately put me there. 🙏

My go-to is orange marmalade chicken with white rice and simple steamed green beans or broccoli. (or roasted veggies). To make orange marmalade chicken, I first brown my chicken thighs (skin on or off) in a dutch oven in ghee or coconut oil until nicely browned on both sides. Then I add 1-2 thin sliced onion over the top, add 1/2 cup water, and a mixture of 1/2 tsp ghee/coconut oil (per piece of chicken) and about a tsp orange marmalade (per piece of chicken). I pour this over the chicken evenly, turn the heat to low, top it with salt and pepper, and cover the pan. I cook for 30 minutes before I check it. Add water if needed (just not too much) and cover again and cook another 30-40 minutes. Meanwhile, I cook up some simple rice and either steam or roast my veggies. The caramelization from the marmalade and the onions is so good with the rice. I came up with this meal in memory of my mother. She passed away 18 years ago of cancer. She would make orange marmalade pasta with a heavy cream sauce, parmesan, and orange marmalade, of course. Since finding out I had some autoimmune issues, I came up with this simple dish that is always so good and reminds me of those memories around the table. I use orange marmalade from Whole Foods, which is their organic 365 brand. Feel free to add more onions for larger families, too, as they add a lot to the dish, and the chicken gets so tender cooked slow like this. Hope your family enjoys this as much as we do.❤

This was amazing and really touched me deep, as that question is in my mind daily. Feeding my family of 6 is hard, but so rewarding as like you said it's more than just food, it's a meal. Will definitely come back to this video often, when I feel stressed about cooking 😉

Yes so much cooking for us both, I had this realization today that I think we have finally hit the spot where I need to start doubling all my recipes, these kids are eating. How old is your oldest Yenny?

There is so much power in a mind shift and change of narrative... sometimes it’s such a frustration to get up and make food amidst of a busy schedule, but then I look in my fridge and say “thank you Lord” because I get to make food for people I love with food that God has provided. Also our country experiences hours of electricity cuts a day and then I look at my gas stove and think of the mammas that have to struggle to try and get their kids fed with no electricity and all I can say is “Thank you Lord” 💛btw ... pasta is definitely my go to-throw whatever I have in-meal to make 😂

Same on the pasta, such a lifesaver sometimes. And wow, that is interesting about the power cuts. That has only happened here once, but yes amen to gratitude changing the whole mindset and then making the task easier. And same same on loving gas burner, so grateful I have one as well
