I love Vince Neil and the original Crue line-up, but I also love this album. Possibly the heaviest of all the Crue albums. Mick Mars was on point on this one 👍

I remember I wrote to Kerri Kasem once that this single with John Corabi was truly one of the very best singles of the group. I stand by that statement, the guitars were ferocious and Corabi gave Vince Neil a run for his money as a vocalist, specifically on this track. The album [1994] proved a welcome presence to counter-balance the emergence of alternative rock including the likes of Collective Soul and Live during the 90's. It may have been a one-and-done affair where John was concerned but it's still a relevant entry to the anals of Rock & Roll and Heavy Metal.

I remember when it was released feeling skeptical about someone coming into filling Vince's shoes, at this point I had only heard the song hooligans holiday on FM radio. I didn't give this album a chance at in 94, but today, without a doubt in my mind this album kickes ass! Don't do what I did listening to only a couple of songs and didn't play it for a few years, that was a huge mistake on my part. granted a lot of it is different from other crue cds but with the great Bob Rock producIng this one, you wont deny just how great this release is, starting with this track

This is actually a very good album. John Corabi's voice is a lot different from Vince Neil's but the fact that he can write lyrics and play guitar added a depth and dimension to the sound that Vince never could. This album definitely has a much more mature sound and I dig the heavier and more aggressive direction. I do have to wonder, though, if maybe they should have used a different name. The mid-90's was a very hostile time for bands associated with the hair metal movement and no band was more associated with that fad than Motley Crue. This album fits comfortably with the alternative/groove metal that was around at the time and I have to wonder if this album may have done better commercially had they used a different name. Then again, Motley Crue had just signed a deal with Elektra Records and likely couldn't use a different name simply because Elektra wanted Motley Crue.

I bought this cassette in Corpus Christi. I was instantly hooked. Yet I knew the fan base would not accept the new sound. And grunge at this time had a strong foot hold on the rock music scene which did not help this album at all. Six months after this was released, it was shelved as a disappointment. Yet its the best overall release by MC imo.

Just imagine how much better songs like Kickstart My Heart and Primal Scream would have sounded with Corabi on vocals! I like Vince, but in comparison he's a bit weak. He is better on the ballads like Home Sweet Home and Without You. I almost wish I had never heard Corabi with the rest of Crue so I wouldn't wonder what could have been if he had been in the band all along.

I don't get motley Crüe, they've always complained Vince wasn't contributing or his singing wasn't great. But for this Album they got a good song writer ,a great power singer and he has the look, the Black hair they all look united .But for some reason people overlook this album, I don't get it! It's a real good Album and it's the least expensive album ,why is that?... now john 5 is going to join making sound even better, no offense to Mars but John 5 is better...if John C was still in the band Crüe would've been killer!!!
