disconnect the battery for a minute or two. may reset the computer, and consider a code reader for your own use. good luck, Im buying an 850tt.

You are lucky to have a great dealer. Lack of Dealers in the United States is the number one thing which puts me off of purchasing MotoGuzzi or Aprilia. Glad your back up and running. Cheers!

Love Moto Guzzi.. have done since my first 850T3 back in the seventies.. and I'd love a V85TT now to compliment my Interceptor 650. However aside from buying one, the price of parts and the number of faults I hear about (although usually minor) is a bit off putting.

Hi - I hear what you're saying!! I'm currently sat at the dealer getting the oil pressure sensor changed - annoying thing is it's the sensor that failed. I don't think the V85TT is any better or worse than any other modern quality bike - the build quality is excellent and putting 16,000 km on it in the last 8 months has been a real pleasure 👍

You had me worried, we have 2 V85TT's and are happy with them but these issues worry me, my dealer is 50 miles away so if it goes wrong I have the same issue. so far so good, funnily enough we also have 650 BMW's which I used to slag but now I know the issues I am confident about their abilities!

I think that this issue came about, as a result of the wires being trapped between the tank and the frame, after the Oxford grips were fitted, all sorted now, I haven't had any other issues. I'm super happy with the bike 👍

@@rememberitsallagame We have almost 8k miles on ours, bought them new in May but only used for longer trips . Mines is the travel which comes with tyre sensors, proper pita when you change tyres and another thing I don't need! I have asked my dealer to look into removing them but 3 months later I haven't heard if they have figured out how to do it! Using the BMW's over winter and keeping the V85's good for Sping.

I like your sensor comment, that is probably one of my biggest gripes with the 'modern" MotoGuzzis. Overall they feel analog but they ruined that with way too many pointless electronics that feel more like a hindrance than useful.

Thanks for the video an good that you solved the issue. It seems that Moto Guzzi electronics are quite sensitive. I had a similar problem a couple of weeks ago afer passing the 20.000Km maintenance: When revving over 5.500 rpm the emergency light switched on. Stopped, switched the bike off, restarted it and the light was gone until depassing again the 5.500 rpm. The cruise control lost as well the possibility of moving the speed up and down. I took it to the dealer whor did a re-programming: Install first the previous version of the software on top of the update done during the maintenance, and then install a new update. They told me that it had to do with the (original) heated grips. After that everything seems fine...but makes me wonder if something else could pop up at any moment... Luckily I have a dealer only two km away from home. Nice bike anyway!

its a sad situation that the more 'technical' our bikes become - the more they are prone to the Gremlins 🤑

It is a shame they don't come standard on all models, but at least they are available, I would recommend getting a price fitted, as it does seem that my issue was caused by the fitting of the after market ones, the throttle sensor cables got trapped between the tank and the frame - and cheers for the Sub 👍

That sensor issue is a huge issue, its too complicated and anything to do with the running needs an independent simple system to work it. It's crazy the throttle isn't separate from the heated grips.

Glad that you like it but I can't quite wrap my head around it. It is only a few years old bike with sensors failing and not being available as separate $10 spares, additionally the key duplication process is an ongoing nightmare and you had to tow the bike and spend $$$ to get it running. And you come out a satisfied customer. Again, glad if this works for you but isn't that exactly the definition of customer dissatisfaction, unreliable vehicle, expensive maintenance nightmare and so on? I don't want to say anything bad, I'm just genuinely sad that though I would like an MG, I can never accept the level of engineering failure it comes with.
@rememberitsallagame

Hi, thanks for taking the time to comment - I feel I didn't do justice to MG in my comments during the video, The key is annoying, but that is really down to the non MG dealer that I bought the bike from, it was supplied with only one key, and it has been a phaf to sort out the spare, but it will be resolved. What I'm describing as the sensor, is actually the wire that sends/receives the throttle info, whoever fitted the Oxford heated grips trapped this wire between the frame and the tank resulting in its failure - I'm no fanboy, so not making excuses, I just don't think its really bike issues - overall I'm still loving this bike 👍

Well done video mate. I hope that you resolved everything. It is a pain in the ass to drive your bike on a trailer so far. You probably know it better than me. I rode this bike and I like it. You can check it. Drop by.

I don't like the way how you always have to push the heated grips button three times. Turn it on to full power, press it three times. Hands too warm and you want to go down to two, press it another three times. Still too warm, press it another three times. Want to turn it off, press it another three times 🤣

OMG you start a Motorcycle that is been outside all night long in obviously cold weather and you accelerate right away with red problem display............................I'm sorry to say this to you but that is kind of stupid., that's the biggest NONO ever., if I was you, I erase this video cause the manufacture (Moto Guzzi) if they see this video they might void the warranty of the Motorcycle. You must start the motorcycle and let the engine get to normal temperature especially in a cold weather., then when the oil reach the valves you can accelerate but still i don't recommended to do it with an engine problem display. If you continue doing that , you motorcycle will have mayor engine issues or problems in a short period of time. Guzzi's engines don't perform well when are cold. Read the reviews.
