I'm in Chilliwack and bought a seat cover from AliExpress for my daughters 1994 Yamaha 49cc scooter. It was only $8cdn shipped and was a little tight to put on, but wow what a difference compared to the old stock beat up one. I have a couple videos on my channel of her riding it around. Another great video, love your style of editing.

I am from Greece and the brand is motok is the best seat shop where they book you an appointment and custom design the foam and memory foam and gel to your ass basically and their work is better than oem. Their covers though are just covers and by just putting it on a “tired” compressed foam is not gone change much. Their seats are very expensive but I have thousand of miles on them and there is no better for long hauls

Really appreciate the work, involved in this video. The post 2012 vfr's seat (improved pattern etc) is still quite slippy. Slightly grippier with leathers than textile in my experience. Thanks again 👍

I got MotoOK on June of 2022. Had a hell of a time fitting it on with the use of heat gun and almost ripped it apart just like you did. Was convinced it was made smaller than it should have been. After talking to them I was advised to remove the original skin and try again with the new cover they send me free of charge. It was pretty much the same experience but it came out really good and I love it. Heat gun and removing the old skin is a must. It looks tight, free of wrinkles, just like a good stock seat cover looks. I picked silver sticking but now I think your red stitching maybe looks better. Cheers! P.S Same bike, same year..

You're a better man than I am! Recovering a seat looks far too difficult to me, I'll buy a Corbin or similar in stead. A lot more costly, yet a perfect solution to me. Ohhh... I buy my Honda parts from my local dealer, 15 minutes away. On foot... seriously!

Good information to have. I am curious if you thought about replacing the seat intirly say with the more popular commonly used brand? The back and forth you had to do was a cost to you. Not a lot of people recover their seats so the information is nice to have.

Hi Rod, A quality replacement, like a Corban or a Sargent can run into 4 figures by time it ships to you, in the case of Sargent they only offer an upgrade that requires you to send them your factory seat pan... I have found for a couple hundred bucks I can get a real improvement in performance by recovering and when I sell the bike I'm not out of pocket for a significant piece of kit that rarely adds value to a new buyer. If you know you're going to log the miles or keep the bike long enough, a high end seat is a great accessory but recovery is a decent budget option and you can always take a replacement cover and gel to an upholsterer for assembly if the task looks daunting. Thanks for the Question!

Did you trim the excess material from the OE seat cover edges before installing the new one? Looks like you didn't but I assume there was a reason for this?

Not really it wasn't in the way and since the old cover had to stay I was able to put a couple staples in the old cover first to steady the foam on the pan. It made laying to top cover easier to install.

Nice video! 🙌 Always interesting see how the competition tries to and fails compete. Both in product and customer service! Damn! I know you found us on Ebay, We design and manufacture everything here in Vancouver BC. using premium marine grade material (the same as open air watercraft) since 2006. And as riders ourselves, we stand behind what we do. 🙏 So we are glad you had a positive experience with our seat cover. Was that Sea to Sky highway btw? Quick note I wanted to mention. As a part of our custom factory, we can swap vinyl panels to accommodate our tec-grip material to further reduce you sliding around on the seat. Maybe for the future! 😉 Also! Curious to see how you would rate the ride quality after installing the gel underneath and against the seat pan?

Thank you for the feedback! Putting the GEL under the foam and against the pan works well, I have used this technique on two seats now. It keeps the factory seat mold intact. the effect is about 70% of placing the GEL on top the seat foam IMO. Yes I am located in the North Shore, if you're interested in collaborations, please let me know!

Yes any padding between the seat pan and your butt is good. I have done two seats this way. Thanks for the view & question!

Sorry, but I can't take your so called test seriously,I don't think it is the manufacturers fault that you cannot make a proper installation.
