For step 1, you should use the table in the NEC as opposed to the nameplate. That is because the motor may be replaced with a less efficient motor.

On the overload protection we should use the nameplate times the percentage, right? This video says to use full load current from the code book but if you look at 430.32 it says nameplate full load current. Thank you for the videos.

I do not. I teach JW prep for a college in Alabama. I use Tom Henry material for the class. I do have other videos for motors, ampacity, and ranges.
