Well done mate. You remind me of a fella in a documentary film I highly recommend. It's called Tim's Vermeer. It's great. You got the Tim in ya. Thank you for posting and congratulations from Canada!

Nice Job. I have almost the same bike, same colour, a 1981 R100RS. I made the mistake of doing a minor strip down in the winter of 1995, come Spring the following year I just didn't seem to get round to putting it back together. It stayed in the garage, a damp cold one until last year when I decided to try and get it back on the road again. Unlike you, I didn't do a restoration, nothing cosmetic, just the essentials. Front forks needed grinding and re-chroming, brake lines and master cylinders needed replacing.. front brake light switch was stuck in the on position and a carb float that had lost it's buoyancy needed replacing, but at last it's back on the road again. I love riding it, it's so different from my BMW G310R that I also love. The RS is a joy to ride on A roads, the G310R is fun for throwing around on the smaller country roads. I just wish I had it in me to do a restoration of the RS, especially as good as yours, but at the age of 75, I just want to ride it while I can. A lovely restoration, just a niggle, I always like to see BMW's pin striping. Cheers for posting, excellent video. 🙂
