Great video mate, nice editing. Learned about these Symba's today when I was buying parts for a CT110. I think I might have to get one of these

I turned 61 last November 1st. I started riding my first motorcycle at 8. It was an early Honda Trail 90. That bike was tough as nails. I would not mind getting a new Symba. But, I do wish SYM would make a version to look just like a CT110. There is a thread at www.advrider.com about a couple that did a huge trip on two Symbas. Here's the web address should anyone want to read it: advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=716979&highlight=underboning I now live on the big island of Hawaii. No freeways. A Symba could do me fine here. And, gas is always WAY more here than on the mainland.

According to Wikipedia, "In 1954 Sanyang Electrics was formed to manufacture dynamoelectric light sets for bicycles." In fact, the headlight looks like the lights I used to have on my pedal cycle when I was a boy.

I LOVE the sound of that engine...my first bike was a Honda "CM90" (SuperCub) that came from "Scootersville Honda" in Las Vegas in '68! The engine sounds EXACTLY the same! But...I read on a scooter site a guy bought one and said "the ride was not as good as a true "small-wheel" scooter and the ride on the Symba was "twitchy" compared to the Yamaha scooter! (small wheel) Huh? I don't remember my Honda as "twitchy". The Symba is actually a motorcycle...NOT a scooter! Also, the guy said the bar on the pillion-style seat really rubs on your ass, so be sure and get the full-size seat! (my Honda had a full-length seat, at least all the "U.S." versions I ever saw had them)

Thanks Gerry. The bike certainly has larger wheels then a scooter (17 inches wide a think) and I'd imagine that's surely going to make it more sure-footed? I find its handling to be very certain, and yet still a nimble bike Regards the seat, I feel ok with it as it is. Having said that though, I should remember that my friend sawed his off for that same reason! I guess the long bench seat would be just fine if you wish to pay for it, but I'm 6 feet tall and don't feel I'd need it, not even on the days when I've clocked up 200 miles. I guess we're all different, though - Tony

The steering on a motorcycle feels unsteady when the steering head bearings are worn. It feels wonderful when you replace the worn bearings!

@@swiftymorgan5064 It's funny how 200 miles are easily clockable when you are going at pleasant speeds. Seems like a good choice for balanced fun, and a fine way to see england. Regards from u. s.

You can certainly cover some ground if you stick at it. Not a racehorse. but has often taken me to the seaside and back before now (around 180 miles). And it's fun to ride a bike!!!

dunbustin Actually you can teplace the worn steering shaft for a Honda one because SYM Symba is the exact derivative of Honda Cub.

really nice little scooter. Those Taiwanese manufacturers have come a long way. I am seriously thinking about buying one that I have seen on my local CraigsList selling for $1000. It only has 613 miles on the clock. One can say that it's almost brand new.

Wow! That's some spot. Same bike though! The mileage registered (or kms. as it is) is different because I either messed up or missed out some footage at my first attempt, so had to try again at a later date

Rob Bravo I doubt that is possible because the gap width of the steering shaft would be wide enough to accommodate the front wheel along with the disc brake.

Thanks for the reply...I WANT the red/white one! Just like my '68! That Honda was so tough even a 14yr.old maniac like me couldn't hurt it...I beat hell out of that bike for 2yrs. day and night, and it just kept running! I sold it for what it almost cost new (300$!) in '70. (got a car...and other riders gave me crap for riding a "girlie" bike, so I sold it) If cars were as tough as that bike...they would last for 40 years!!!

Gerry Nightingale Actually Honda Cub was rated as the No. 1 among the "World's 10 best bikes" by Discovery. Honda Cub can run on any oil, even vegetable oil for cooking. Honda developed the engine on any oil for Cub because of the painful experience of fuel shortage and rationing in WW II. In the Discovery movie, Two English guys even raced the throttle of Cub to throw it from the top of 2 story building and found the Cub still running with front rim bent.

Clocked up 200 miles per day a few times Still as rugged as the first day, by and large Sadly I don't think SYM are selling the Symba in the UK anymore, although the last time I looked they were still selling the SYM Wolf (a conventional 125cc m'bike)
