Definitely something a lot of people forget about. The amount of vehicles that fail mot’s on tyres. I know my tyres have only done 800 miles, replaced last year. My old tyres had lots of tread on them but they all cracked.

A good explanation of the tyre markings. However I noticed that the tyre was a Michelin Agilis Cross Climate. I had a set of those installed to my motorhome and I noticed that the vehicle was not handling well. Turns out Michelin did not recommend to use those in motorhomes. They strongly recommended using the camper version with steel reinforced sides, which are designed for constant high pressure.

Another useful tip I find on my car which gets stood up in winter is to increase the tyre pressure by about 15 psi to help stop them distorting as much as well as like you say moving it forward or backwards a few inches

On the tyre pressures it has the standard info on the vehicle but in the Autotrail manual they advise a different pressure - on mine it says 72 at the front and 78 at the back as per the Ducato sticker on the van - the Autotrail manual says 60 front and 65 at the back - why?
@TheMotorhomeMan

Rob I will have to look into that
@johnsutherland8239

Probably because you aren’t carrying the same maximum payload as the commercial vehicle will
@lifebeyondbricks

The Ducato sticker is the pressures for if the vehicle is running at maximum payload (e.g. in its use as a commercial vehicle rather than a motorhome) where as the Autotrail guidance is for its use as a motorhome. Its best to follow the Auotrail guidance (and maybe weigh your vehicle sometime when its loaded to make sure you are running within your payload limit)

Yes ours is an autotrail expedition on continental vanco camping cp's @ 80psi. Horrid ride - might a well run on the rims. Will try lowering the pressure but don't want to damage the sidewall. Garage said 80 might be dangerous but understandably wouldn't recommend against the sticker.😮 A poor situation the manufactures or converters really need to sit out.
