Save yourself some future cross-threaded headaches, anytime your putting something on that has multiple screws, bolts or nuts, don't tighten any of them down before you get all of them started in/on, and that'll go for anything you work on,👍, you done a quality-job on building your bike, and it looks great🔥, thanks for sharing.

I commend you for working on your own bike. Learn how to properly use a Volt Ohm Meter and your readings will be more accurate. When you are checking the Magneto coil, set it at the 2K (Two Thousand) Ohm setting. If the coil is good, it will read in the 300 Ohm area. This can be done before removing the magneto stator from the bike. When mounting the stator, use two business cards on each side (4 cards total) to set the gap for the magnet rotor to the stator before tightening the screws. There is wiggle room to allow this adjustment and properly done, increases performance of the system.

Check those stupid barrel connectors where the wires connect up to the kill switch make sure they're not loose better yet get rid of those stupid butt connectors and solder those wires together also take your magneto cover off unbolt the 4 bolts for your magneto slide a business card between the stator and magneto then tighten your magneto back down this way it ensures you have the correct Gap I ran these bikes for years and I've never seen a magneto go bad

@@robbdoesitall first check to make sure you have spark then check that you're getting fuel like is the spark plug wet or dry if it's dry you're not getting fuel might be worth taking the cylinder top off to make sure you don't have scoring along your cylinder walls if the scoring is too bad you'll lose too much compression and it won't run although scoring is a sign of other worse problems hope that helps if not please give me some more details and I'll try to help you out as best I can

It may actually be a bad loop set but you rarely see those go out unless you had it submerged in water and didn't clean it properly then corrosion can cause a problem but those things are usually bulletproof

What ended up happening was the wires came loose and grounded out to the frame, it shorted out the magneto and fried it, this has already happened twice, from now on I just solder the wires like you said

when i had a fouled plug i would get a small jar and spray some carburetor cleaner into it and soak the electrode part of the plug for an hour or two. That loosened the crap on the bent piece and it DID start again

I had the same exact thing happen to me, I was riding, came up to a stop light and when I pulled in the clutch it just died on me, tried to get it to start for 30 minutes and it started and took me maybe 100 feet up the road before dying on me again. That was 4 days ago and I still can’t get it to start. Did a spark test and no spark. Luckily I have a parts engine I can take the magnito out of.

I ran mine today for about 20 minutes and then I parked it for about 3 hours. Now it won’t run but when I’m going downhill and I pop the clutch it will pop every now and then but won’t run. I tested my mag and it was .3 which I guess apparently that means it’s not the issue.
