I owned one of these from about 2009 to 2018. I think I paid $2,500. It never gave me any issues. Fit and finish were good for the class. Very low cost of ownership. The most money I spent on it was to upgrade the stereo and speakers. I can't say anybody was ever impressed but it got me where I needed to go for almost 10 years.

I remember when these came out, this was part of Suzuki's so-called re-launch in The United States. These weren't the worst cars in the world, but they did little to help Suzuki gain any kind of foothold in The US market. I test drove one, The A/C didn't work and the temperature gauge for the outside temperature was way off. The interior was ok but nothing special. The car ended up being a flop and is basically all but forgotten about.

Well, those cars (we know 'em as Daewoo) were far worse than early 00's Hyundai/Kia. Cheap inside and outside, constant breakdowns.

The shame is that when Suzuki finally brought some interesting stuff here later (the Kizashi was unremarkable but nice, the last Grand Vitara was quite interesting, the SX4 was ab incredible little AWD knockaround), the brand was already toast. Those were decent cars. The Daewoo corporate models were utter junk, new and still are. I can't believe I still occasionally see them, especially the very rare Verona with all of its bespoke parts. That FWD inline 6 was an oddball for no reason.

@@matthewbowen5841 I used to see a Verona around now and then, near where I used to live lived. it looked like the one in this video. However, good luck finding one now.

Daewoo of Korea. GM still uses the remaining parts for the Chevy Spark, Chevy Trax, Buick Encore and Encore GX, and Chevy Trailblazer. The Aveo and Sonic were Daewoo leftovers too.

@@matthewbowen5841 they had these in Canada as the Suzuki and as the Chevy Epica. all of the Suzuki's are gone, but one surviving Epica is still 'round with it's original owner from 2006!! it's kinda sad honestly, Daewoo is left as nothing but forgotten boring cars that GM sold all over the world

I own one, but with original Daewoo badges. And it's flawless and reliable. Everything that was said in this show is true.

Can be a beautiful yet assuming sleeper, dreaming of putting a 1JZ or RB25 under the hood, from a 2.5 inline 6 to another 2.5 inline 6!

Yeah. It's a rebadged Daewoo, made in South Korea, along with the Chevy Aveo, Captiva Sport, and Spark.
