After 8 months of driving a GLA250 4MATIC, I have to honestly say the best thing about it is its design. It's gorgeous inside and out. BUT, the ride is honestly terrible for a Mercedes. You would be shocked at the difference between the ride of the GLA and the C class. The GLA is WAY too firm, and you feel every imperfection of the road beneath you. There is too much body lean on turns. The transmission is smooth some days and choppy/sluggish on others. It also rattles, which is extremely annoying. Visibility is mediocre and the car seems a bit claustrophobic sometimes. No headroom. Mine was 44k and still didn't have real leather, a sunroof, a keyless go, a parking sensor, or xenon headlamps/LED tail lamps. Of course, I'm complaining about a Benz. It's still a good car; it just lacks refinement. Oh, and get rid of those nasty plastics on the dash. For the next GLA: 1 inch larger in every dimension, give it the new 9-speed, make the suspension softer, get rid of the excessive plastic, and give it standard xenon.

Maybe the new 2016 QX30 would be a good alternative. It's on a MB frame anyway. Underneath its taut, sinewy skin, the QX30 is really a Mercedes-Benz. Like the Q30, it sits on the same compact, front-drive architecture that forms the basis for the Mercedes A-class, CLA-class sedan, and GLA-class crossover. Infiniti’s parent company, Renault-Nissan, has entered into a tech-sharing partnership with Daimler, and the Q30 and QX30 are among the first fruits of that relationship.

That's too bad to hear that the MotorWeek staff basically admitted they would never want to daily-drive this car. If a GLA45 AMG isn't meant to be daily-driven, then I don't know what sports car, or hot hatch, is.

***** Yes, I own an RS5. Due to US crash regulations, Audi wasn't able to use their adjustable dampers on the RS5 here in the states. As a result, it rides like crap. I drove an S4 with adjustable dampers back to back with my RS5 and the difference is night and day. Because of that, my car is going on the market soon with less than 10,000 miles on it. GLA45 was a car I was looking at, until I found out it also has a less-than-livable suspension setup. Damn shame.

And the ridiculous price. $40k for fake leather, plastics and a cramped interior. The Buick Encore is more premium than this garbage. Mercedes has high depreciation. I can buy a 2 yr old GLE for half the mrsp price. That's sad.

I would rather go spend $30k on a Subaru or a Toyota. Mercedes isn't exactly something that will last without a lot of upkeep. Mercedes these days stands for overpriced Hyundai quality. And to be honest if you put Hyundai badges on it, most people wouldnt know the difference. There is a good reason why those $70k Mercedes sell for $4000 after 10 years. The first thing I do when I buy a used Subaru, is take the seats out and throw em away and then go on Ebay and buy some Mercedes seats and put them in my Subaru. And then you have a premium car on a budget

Y10Q The older Mercedes was a by word for quality. I don't know about the new ones I remember that Mercedes said back in the late 90s that their car was over built and they would cut corners but now they say that the quality is back but they say a lot of things, it's a good looking car. Now days you got Subarus and Toyotas that can do 200,000 300,000 miles I hope they brought back the quality back. Because I'm in the market for a luxury suv.

Everything this reviewer says screams they should of brought the a250 or the a45 amg over to us. 4.8 seconds is weak for an amg product. Especially when you get beat by a stock wrx sti that some kid is driving. Ultimate embarrassment. Cla is 4.4 I would of said it was acceptable if it was 4.6 but not 4.9! I would match up a a250 or a45 and ditch my e class.

Yes I am concerned about it just like thousand of others are that are looking at this car and wish it was a a45 instead. I don't know what drag races you are part of but whoever crosses the line wins every second counts.
@promodelred
9 жыл бұрын
I'm aware but I'm telling you the 0-60 time does not dictate who passes the line first. It's about the measure of the time it takes for a car to cover a certain amount of distance (i.e. 1/4 mile, 100 feet)
@melmelcorvette
9 жыл бұрын
i know that but I'm not drag racing down a long strip most people stop light race. whether they want to admit it or not. 0-60 is a good indication on what the car can do. which what i go by and most of the world. I'm fully aware that there are more factors that affect everything.
