Mount Fuji is Japan's tallest mountain at 3,776m. We want to reach the summit in time for Malaysia's 66th Independence day on August 31. However, we went 1 day earlier and made to the peak on August 30, 2023.
We took the most popular and the easiest routes on Mt. Fuji, the approximately 7.4km Yoshida Trail. But don't take thing for granted. Easy is for those who are mentally and physically prepared. Going up to summit takes you through many mountain lodges and stations. It may look near but trust me it isn't.
The best part of Mount Fuji is reaching the top in time sunrise. The sun rising from the horizon and the change of colour hues in the sky makes the view looks surreal and vivid.
And the zigzagging trail on the way down to 5th Station will test your patience and legs.
But Fujisan has been kind to us with good weather and injury free hike.
