Wow..this is the $10000000 detail. I have watched and purchased countless of bjj videos since starting bjj in 2006 and this is the first time I watched an instructional which addressed the shoulder rising to start the hip escape and countering it with shoulder pressure. Thanks again and really appreciate your knowledge and contribution to this art .

Thank you so much! Yeah it’s crazy how much one small idea or detail can completely change a position. Hope the collar choke detail helps too, that was a major breakthrough for me

Jon, yours is truly *INSTRUCTIONAL CONTENT". You nail something that is difficult to hit in that you know not just what to show, but how to show it. Explanation..coaching..is often doing a good job of illustrating..with words, pictures, demonstration, etc. You paint good pictures, sir and I am thankful for the benefit of it!!

Content recommendation: What I would do with a video like this is release a second video right away that indicates how, in this example, the person on bottom can actually defend. As we all know Jiu-Jitsu is not one-sided so when you look at this particular video you would think once you get mount you will destroy everybody always, but the reality is people on the bottom have ways to effectively get away too. So just to optimize view count and keep videos succinct, it would be good to release them as two separate videos but release them in tandem so that a person can get the full picture from each position as attacker and defender. Then I suppose the only thing to address at that point is the “space between“, which is where most success in jiujitsu occurs. All the transition type stuff that exists between the two polar opposite positions. I guess most of that can be built into the two videos as mentioned above, but perhaps sometimes a 3rd video could be released that would specifically address the in-between type stuff. That'll cause some redundancy of content to the first two videos, but hey, if we all got everything we needed from a single video, there'd only be like, 12 videos on BJJ on KZitem. :) So redundancy is a good thing.
