That's pure enjoyment - to see mostly hardtails, and none of that "900 cm travel time on mah carbon penta-air fork and mah custom made rear suspension that can withstand dropping from 10-th floor building" bullshit. I wonder if those so-called "downhill aces" can even do any of climbs racers here did almost effortlessly.

The bike is solid and my Ebike conversion went great. kzitem.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Very smooth ride at 30mph with no problems (135 miles ridden so far). The picture is a bit deceiving - there is WAY less space in the center of the frame than it shows. The suspension connection takes up the entire thing. So I needed to attach my battery on the bottom of the frame and my controller on the top. Instructions for assembly were lacking but honestly it wasn't too hard to figure out even though I have very little bike knowledge. Watched some youtube videos on adjusting the disk brakes but that was it. Still, I am loving it and very happy with the purchase.

I was rooting for Pidcock but he didn't have the legs in this race. Look at his face when came off. Schurter was hungry for this. Gutsy performance from him and he dug deep to win.

It‘s when you feel too strong that you go too fast to the lead of the race. Pidcock had to pay for this way to manage the race. Even if he may be the strongest - Nino was more intelligent.🤷♂️

I think 29 inch wheels are a gimmik and no hard evidence has proven otherwise. Rolling resistance or what-not its seems when I ride 26 27.5 or 29 the 29s are spindley and less controllable at low speed technical sections. And it goes as well for single sprocket front drives as you have less control over shifting and dropped chains can't be fixed on the fly and without much weight savings. These gimmicks do sell bikes however as they convince the public they have to have them and of course the pros will be fast no matter as long as they are paid... as they say it's not the bike it's the rider.
@v0ldy54

If 26 were faster they would be racing on 26, they obviously aren't.

I swear by 1x; continuous power band, new-gen wide-narrow teeth keep chains on quite well, the clutch on the rear derailleur additionally aids chain retention and frankly you sound like i did at one point in time when I was defending 26ers quite militantly and mindlessly. I've been running a 27.5+ since '18 and it was a Huge improvement since, with the tires, the overall diameter is 29" (or 700c) and things that would have sent me ass over teakettle I've (abruptly) rolled over in great surprise. Additionally, you also have 29+ and they're Not spindly(!). The fact of the matter is that mixed in with the b.s. gimmicky stuff there are the Legit developments (New School geometry, disc brakes, 27.5 standard, alt-flat bars, etc) that Hugely improve the sport. Sadly, the new gen take on cross-country isn't one of the improvements; a CX bike could run the XC courses I've seen in videos (just run the rough sections as if they were boards or mandatory dismounts). These Euros running UCI are dirty (read Deep into doping culture), have No idea what a proper XC course looks like, are inserting Lycra/Spandex where it's Least welcomed (if you look at the sport's roots!) Plus least protective, and if the truth be told, an organization which at root, is Pure Roadie Corporate Scum at heart. Mountain-biking needs it's own Brexit from UCI and Soon!
