Moving to Antigua and Barbuda from London was a decision that Mckala Flemming took in her stride in her twenties.
Now, after six years spent working as a teacher at an international school in Antigua and with a young family of her own in tow, Mckala shares her advice and experience with the Exodus Collective.
Mckala also shares her tips for socializing in Antigua & Barbuda advice on adjusting to island life as a family and why international schools in the Caribbean are an option worth exploring.
We also discuss why letting go of the hope that your overseas move will be perfect is a good way of managing expectations and why understanding that as a second-generation "returnee" it's unlikely that you'll ever be able to fully assimilate into the local community is an important realization.
