Kimberly I think it’s great that you’re planting and beautifying a rental space. To me that says a lot about your great personality. It boosts my spirit to be surrounded by beauty. Plus it will amp up the property value for the owner and be pleasing for the next renter. I can’t wait to see the flowers you already planted along the fence row. I hope they’re thriving. Enjoy your time with your friends. Best wishes and safe travels.

I know this sounds nutty, but we've moved 4 times in the last 6 years, and we've found it oddly cleansing to do a bit more decluttering each time. I can't say we miss anything we've gotten rid of and it's helped to really show us what stuff is most dear to us. But oh golly, just ship that gorgeous yarn- it can't weigh that much!

Packing is never fun😂 you may have to rent a trailer to pull behind lol. You never know just how much stuff you actually have that you love till you start packing for a long move . So excited for you. The worse is over (packing) !! We 'down-sized' two yrs. ago after 30 yrs. in the house we built & landscaped. Sad, but, unfortunately age & ill health (hubby) does catch up with everyone. House now too small, but love the mature beautiful garden, makes up for everything. Love my light garden every morning, plus our exotic birds have more protection in a covered large area, under which I have turned into a painting/garden potting space as well. Wish you much love in your new venture from Australia.
Oh my goodness Heather is beautiful like her mama. You inspire me to start a new adventure without fear. Thank you Kimberly. Awe Dex the helper is too cute.

Kimberly, I grew up the same way. My mother is German and I was born their. My great Aunt had a farm and it's where I spent much of my time when we were in Germany. My father was in the Military and spoke four languages fluently, so we spent much of our time in Europe. We had a garden, an orchard, chickens, ducks, geese, pigeons & my great Uncle had pigs and was a butcher. My great Aunt also had herbs on the kitchen window sill. Everything came from the garden, or the city market on the weekends. Refrigerators were very small with barely a freezer so meat, cheese, butter and such items were bought every few days. Wishing you a great adventure. My granddaughter lives in North Carolina & I am visiting in September. I've traveled up and down the Eastern Seaboard. After retirement my father worked at NASA in Florida & he was from Philadelphia so even after I married we traveled quite often. My late husband was in the Air Force & from New York and of German Heritage. I too am making a move. Difference, not as far & even after giving much away to family. I am going to need the biggest Uhaul they make. Life is one big Adventure no matter your age.

@@PrettyOverFifty I think it's wonderful what you are doing. Can't wait for you to share everything from your new lifestyle. I too say schmutz.(German for dust, or mess, a multi purpose word.) When my late husband & I first moved to a new area we rented before buying. I always landscped. Some around the yard and a lot in pots. My late husband bought me a beautiful red climbing rose. I dug it up and planted it at my new homr. I am going to dig it up again. The trick for roses transplant. Put a colored piece of tape in the front & plant it or if leaving in the pot keep it facing the same direction. Gosh I could just talk to you forever. It's like we are sympatico & share so many of the dame interests. Like Reiki, Crystals, essential oils, planting, & more. Bless you for letting me blather on. 😅😋.

I love Dexter and Lucy so I hope you'll feature them more in the new house.Having grown up in small houses with minimal yard space I have never grown a green thumb, so I'm excited to see what you do with the yard. Today here in N.Y. it's hot and humid and I can't imagine what S.C. is like, but people find ways to adapt. I'm not a winter person at all so I'd rather be hot than cold. I'm so excited for your move! Partly because I am looking forward to your documenting your move and new adventure in life and partly because it's not me moving this time! LOL I did the BIG move three years ago from NYC to Florida. It was messy. It was chaotic. It was stressful. But in the end, it all worked out and after a big purge of stuff, I was able to get everything in a small Penske truck and my small car. (My car was filled mostly with my "products" :) ) We took our time and did the big move over three days (because, Florida wasn't going anywhere and we didn't want to make the drive more stressful than it had to be.) Three years later...it's all a distant memory. Hang in there, you'll be fine! Safe travels! Your daughter is beautiful, btw.
