I think the sound it better via the camera than the microphone. When your sound is via the camera it feels like your chatting in my home with me, via the microphone it somehow feels less personal.

If you look at the Celtic calendar , January is a time to rest and reflect and still hibernate…then the celts would embrace February as their month to come alive and reset their goals. Traditionally in Ireland Imbolg ( meaning …expecting)…signify the start of spring ( it’s February here in Ireland)

H Lydia-A comment for you regarding organization (yes, i am American!). My sister shared this with me and it’s helped tremendously-it’s called the “one touch” method. Meaning, instead of putting the laundry on the bed to put away later, you “one touch it”, and just go ahead and put it into the drawers/wardrobe/hang it up. Or the dishwasher-don’t unpack it onto the counter-open the cupboard and put dishes/glasses directly where they live. It’s shockingly helpful, and extremely easy! And now you’ll never get “one touch” out of your mind! Cheers, Julianne.❤

Black for everyday things, and a Red for urgent things so they jump out at me in the morning. This was such a cozy set up and you looked gorgeous! One of my big goals is to actually make something of my own channel. I’ve been making videos for years now but have changed my niche several times. I have had emotional moments feeling like Im failing and don’t belong on this platform. This year I plan to lean into what I love, crafting, homemaking, baking, and vintage restyling. Make the content I would want to watch. Like you said- trying to fill life with educational and positive energy- so good books, helpful podcasts and eating well. Self-care in the way of mental health, deep breathing, grounding, and talking kindly to myself. Looking forward to a year of growth for everyone in whatever way makes you happy and congrats on hitting 1 million 🎉 ❤ (sidebar: if Carrie had to line up the audio to the video with several cuts and takes I applaud you! I have edited for other KZitemrs and have had to do this and know it can be challenging! Looked and sounded fab).

I am 52 and struggled with hormonal issues my whole life including heavy periods, endometriosis, fertility etc etc. Looking back, my advice to you is to first focus on diet and getting tested for vitamin and mineral deficiencies before taking any medication. For example, I had years of crazy insomnia, joint pain, water retention, heart palpitations, severe vertigo etc. Turned out I was deficient in vitamin D3, iodine and B12. Supplements with these plus cod liver oil made a massive difference. Also, you need to reduce your exposure to chemicals like vegetable oils, fluoride toothpaste, nail polish and cosmetics. My teenage daughter has reduced her heavy periods, lost weight and almost fully cleared up her acne by cutting down on carbs like breakfast cereals, pasta, rice, bread and potatoes, and eating more red meat, butter, eggs, salmon, chicken liver, whole fresh milk and chicken with the skin on. She also takes cod liver oil and iodine, stopped the gel nail polish and switched to organic hair products. She is also doing more weight training at the gym and taken up tennis instead of running. Her skin, hair, general appearance and mood has improved dramatically with these changes even though she occasionally still indulges in ice cream, pizza, chocolate, and/ or tequila shots.

Happiness is a means to an end, joy is the process towards happiness. Enjoying the day to day, every moment and the journey to happiness. Your extremely long list of intentions and goals appear to be new year resolutions most of people don’t follow through after the 1st month of the year, and just by the lengthy list the plausibility of success is less than nothing. Good luck however in achieving the most important ones you listed at least Lydia. Talking about NYR makes good video content idea anyway. Congrats 1M.

The things that helped me with PMDD were getting rid of known & suspected carcinogens and endocrine disruptors. It was more than a little ironic to watch your scented candle flickering throughout this whole video… I hate to say that all those scented candles you burn and all those perfumes you wear are actually making you feel much worse and are negatively impacting your health. I had to stop burning candles in my house, stop wearing perfumes except for organic, all naturals (like Henry Rose and essential oils). I even had to switch my laundry detergent and cleaning supplies to organic. I hate to be the one to deliver bad news (I was not happy) but if even one person reads this who is struggling with their health, it will be worth it.

I thought a gratitude journal seemed juvenile, but omg...everybody needs to try it! Do it for like 2 weeks. Not just writing what you're thankful for, but truly absorbing the emotion--the depth of the gratitude--because you're more grateful for certain things than others..and write down all the reasons why you're grateful for it. Go in depth and bask in the gratitude and I swear it tends to cancel out so many negative things. It's so simple that it's ridiculous! but it works!

A long time ago I sent you a message because I could tell through your videos when you spoke about your periods, I said check whether you have PMDD. It's something not many people understand or have heard about. I'm a sufferer but only was diagnosed about 9 years ago and now I'm 49 & peri menopausal and still on treatment for PMDD. It was a huge relief when I was finally diagnosed, it was an answer to the every 2-3weeks of hell I suffered emotionally, mentally and physically out of a month. I lost my brother to suicide and every time my symptoms started I had horrible thoughts I wasn't good enough, people would be better off without me. I had a daughter so how could I have these thought when she was my world. PMDD causes irrational thoughts, I'm now not suffering this every month with medication. Good luck and and carry on raising awareness of this condition 🤍

Please update us on what you find out. I'm past menopause now. I had the help of estrogen to see me through it and am so glad I did. Dearest Lydia, what a wonderful video. I found your channel while being hold up in bed at the hospital, and long recuperation. So you kept me company while in a hospital room for weeks. It was so much fun shopping and taking care of myself. I found your Audible book and ordered the hard cover. A MAZEING…. You are a talented young woman. It is clear you have gone through a life journey, and have used your platform to help mentor and educate women through their journey. If I could give you a small tidbit of advice. My clients in the past were and are all very high profile Hollywood A listers. They have a lot of the same issues you do, but maybe not on the same platform. We talk about this often. Don’t allow the CHATTER to distract you. You have worked hard and achieved ALOT. You do NOT APOLOGIZE for that. When people criticize you, simply don’t allow yourself to stop on that comment, KEEP MOVING. you have helped remind me that in taking care of myself and loving myself I am a better person for others. I lost that for awhile, ALWAYS taking care of others and forgetting to take time out for myself. Thank you

As someone who has suffered from pmdd for the better part of my life, I know exactly how you feel and it is truly real. My daughter suffers as well so there is a hereditary component to pmdd. Unfortunately, the only relief I had was menopause; however, hopefully my daughter can find a cure in a more timely fashion. Right now, my daughter’s salvation is talking to me and my assuring her that this will pass and she is not losing her mind. Having a partner than acknowledges that pmdd is real, is a major part of maneuvering through this difficult process. I hope your doctor can help you, but until then, realize that what you are feeling is real and being kind to yourself is crucial.

I found when I was very depressed a system called Fly Lady it stands for First Love Yourself And it helped lift me out of that horrendous time when I was hormonally challenged because the simple routines become second nature. Such as selecting your outfit for the next day including jewellery the night before and hanging it on bedroom door. Making sure your sink is clear and shiny each night . Using a timer to do a Pupa Pick Up And Put Away for 10minutes So many little tips and tricks once you get your head around the concepts and it puts u on autopilot on those hard days you still get stuff done. I would be super motivated and then wouldn’t check something off my list for the day and spiral in my imperfection. This year I am taking a page from your book and embracing winter. I’m letting the vision take shape, taking small steps and finding rest in the reset. I’ve set my intentions and letting them weave into my life. Something new I am trying this year is asking myself how did my day sparkle (I’m choosing sparkle but the word can be different)? So i can relate. And as soon as my period starts, all disapear. But i know that pmds must be much harder for your mental health. A lot of women need some medicarion to get trough. You live in the same temperate, rainy, grey climate as I do, Vancouver , BC. Many people get SADS in those months. You may want to read up on the lack of Vitamin D plus K2 on that, to help in that. Using sunscreen always, doesn't give your body the Vitamin D it needs, but be careful because it needs to be taken with K2. I find, keeping my lights on, in the winter, going into room to room that I use helps, from Living room. kitchen, office ect. I just keep those light on as I travel through my house during the day. In the summer there are no issues, in the winter yes. That's why I could never understand why people would decorate their homes in grey? Probably works if you live in Texas or Arizona, but it really doesn't work in many places. Don't follow trends.

It was bizarre - also I spent 30 years anaemic and that went away in months. Maybe you should do ‘less’ social media - but in your head “better quality”. I absolutely hate TikTok - it’s like the rubbish of social media - maybe give that a miss - it’s so full of awful content. As you get older you will change what you want to do - what you want watch, listen too.

I agree. It feels very staged. I also got the feeling that she is veering in a different direction with her podcast after the release of her book. I am not saying it’s a bad thing. We all change and maybe she found things that means more to her now but i think her audience might change a bit.

This was really helpful to me and have now started therefore will see how it goes.I highly recommend watching Emilia Clarke's life lessons on Harper's Bazaar as know that there are a few things in that which you'll get alot out of as it also puts into perspective the word andeaning of empowerment that has so many different meanings.

This is one of the best videos , thank you !! So inspiring!! And I'm pleased you have mentioned PMDD as I have it too and had to have therapy for it too as I was getting so depressed and even worse... that I don't want to mention. What you said that you're experiencing was like listening to myself. Good luck, hopefully you'll get the help you need !!! Fingers crossed.

Happy to see you are back & cheers for a great start for 2024✨By the way, I’m the same w/ organized mess😅 but whatever that works for you is the best. I must say though, sharing your ups and downs and good days and bad days make it more human and real. Striving to do better is amazing but the confidence in able to show vulnerability on not so great days is kind of more real and in a way, the beauty of a vlog that is relatable and not too commercial. Everything in life is not polished and in perfection all the time and I hope the community here can grow, and continue to find a place of inspiration and a place we can dream. At least that is what I’m looking forward to. Wishing you the best! xoxo from a city girl ❤

Welcome back, Lydia! Thank you for using the mic, as a hearing impaired person this helps tremendously. 🤍 You looked extra pretty in this video. I bought a similar bow, inspired by you. Wore it over the holidays already and felt very cute in it indeed. 😄

A tad bit of anti depressant may help the pms mood swings. I know it takes humility to go to a psychiatrist, but I’ve been there and believe me, I don’t think I’d be here had I not gone back in 2011. I really didn’t want to post this, but when you stated that you can’t stand where your brain takes you sometimes and the images it brings to you, that made me believe you may need a mood stabilizer. Nothing at all wrong with seeing a brain doctor any more than seeing an eye doctor. Hugs and prayers that this will get figured out soon. xx

My 2024 intentions is to trust my instincts more, I always wanted to decorate my bedroom in a classic Navy, and I have finally done it and I wish I had acted sooner as I positively adore it, ❤

Welcome back million subs queen! 2024 will be even better to you!! Keep doing You and we will all be here for it! So happy you're back shiney and new! Btw, estrogen dominance is why you're a hot mess period wise, progesterone cream 10 days before period due is a Game changer! No pills please...estrogen is what they add to animals and other food so when anything says hormone free they mean Estrogen......so there ya go...

I’m usually a very positive person and have been doing manifestations, visualisations and goals setting etc. couple of years now and I’m a big believer in all those things. But this year started really badly for me with getting COVID, having to cancel a wellness London staycation and getting rejected for a job that I really wanted and thought I would be perfect for. How do I get to believing that things will get better after this? That 2024 will be the amazing year I’ve been planning in my head?

The hormone situation is so real! I experienced what you are going through. I know what you’re talking about with ‘ thoughts that aren’t you’. I happily embraced menopause! I couldn’t believe the freedom of not having two weeks of hell every month! That’s 50% of the month! It’s simply not sustainable. You will feel so much better when you get this under control. And Congratulations on 1 Million subscribers!! Well done!👍🏻👍🏻
