‘Moving Past the Fear of Being Disliked’ is an eye-opening talk by Lucie Fink that talks about the negativity faced by content creators all over the world. She talks about her experiences as a content creator and how it affected her. In particular, she tells us about an incident where she set up a personal meeting with a person who had posted a series of negative comments on her posts. Upon direct conversation, she found out that the said person was going through a serious mental health rough patch and Lucie’s posts affected her in a negative way. This conversation changed her perspective of negativity and made it easier for her to do the job that she loves to do regularly. It is often said that negativity stems from a deeper place of hurt. We forget about the nuances of human emotions when it comes to negativity, we shun its sources and try our best to tune out the haters. But what if we listened for a change? Lucie Fink, a prominent KZitem personality, lifestyle host, stop-motion artist, and the President and CEO of Lucie Fink Media, shares her journey of facing negativity. Having been on-camera for quite some time now, she has had the experience of being scrutinized for her online personality and she shares how her way of handling the ‘not-so-pleasant’ moments taught her lessons that were valuable and deeply moving. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
