I felt this. I’m 29 now almost 30, I moved to Texas after I got out of the military in 2017 under some false pretenses from my in-laws. They wanted my husband and I to be closer to them. Then they moved to Florida like two years later. Had we knew they’d do it, we would’ve stayed there in CA (which we are both from). We have both felt an emptiness being out here and knowing no one. So we are moving back at the end of our current lease next year to be near my family and friends again and actually enjoy life. 👏🏼

Bad advice. I live in LA. Don't come here without at least 10K in savings, or have family or close friends waiting to take you in and help you while you look for work and an apartment. The rent is sky high and it's really hard to find a job right now that will pay that rent amount.

@rosemarymartinez6709

Everyone up here being negative and saying you need at least 10k to move here is ridiculous. Point is, if you want to move somewhere, just do that shit. Sure saving up some money before doing so is smart and will save you some headache but if you can’t save a lot of money, you’ll make it work if you really want to. I moved to LA in 2016 with 1,000 in my pocket. I searched for jobs before I moved and had at least 5 interviews lined up for the week I got here. Found a room for rent on Craigslist and I was straight. There’s plenty of jobs out here. Someone is always hiring you just can’t be picky if you need a job asap. I’ve been here 8 years now. I have a good job working for Kaiser Permanente, got my AA in psychology and am now about to graduate with my bachelor’s next year. Sure it’s expensive here but if this is the place you want to be you WILL make it work. And if not you’ll find every excuse not to. So make moves and make it happen. If you’re always waiting for the right time you’ll always be living the wrong life. (I heard that saying somewhere lol)

I’m 20 years old. I’ve lived in the most desolate, depressing province in Canada my entire life. I have nothing going for me. I’m a highschool dropout. I can’t hold down a job. I’ve got no friends. I’ve been very unwell emotionally for as long as I can remember. I’ve only got my mom behind my back, and barely. I decided that I want to start a new life in New Orleans. I want to make my way down south to Louisiana, and see what I can do. see if there’s anything I can do. I don’t know what id do. how id survive. but its what i want. I just need my passport, and to save some money from the job I don’t have. I wanna take a chance on myself. I’ve never had hope in my life, but the idea of starting anew in New Orleans brings a little light to it all. i hope i can some day soon. find a way to survive down there until I can become a U.S citizen and worry less.

i’m 20 & no bullshit we’re in the same predicament lol, it’s funny I wanted to get my passport to see a buddy in edmonton. traveling is the best therapy, even better if you come upon a location you want to live in. I live in utah & drove to LA because I was sick of rotting inside day in & day out. I discovered I really loved it there & i’m currently trying to move and see if it’s for me. I fuckin promise you there’s so much more out there than those bedroom walls, seeing the world really simmers the fog & hopelessness i’ve come to find out. it can also go the other direction & give you a newfound appreciation of home, a realization that you’re where you want & need to be. either way, good outcomes. Im planning on going to new orleans next year, fantastic city & rent isn’t actually that bad compared to most of the US. fairly walkable too so you can save some money that way if you coordinate your job & apartment.
