I am so happy for you. I am a Florida native. I have lived in Tampa my entire life. I have never heard of the Villages until now. As a single mom and a 56 year old, I often wonder what my life will look like once all my kids have moved away. Thank you for sharing this. You have given me something to think about. Being over 55 clearly doesn’t mean a person has to live a lonely, boring life. You are such an inspiration.

I live in Florida, the Tampa Bay Area and trust me you won’t want to be out listening to music in the summer at 5pm. The heat and humidity is oppressive. If you can afford to have a home up north for the summer, then it’s great 4-5 months a year. I’ve been here over 40 years and can’t wait to get out. Heading to a more moderate year round climate. Also by the way hiking in Florida is called walking. It’s flatter than flat 😂😂 Admire your adventurous spirit tho!

Welcome! As a fellow Villager, I’m really happy for your new adventure here. I’ve been here 7 years and still pinch myself that I actually live here. It was smart of you to rent first. Because of the size of The Villages and depending on your interests and needs, getting to know what area suits you best is a wise choice. I’m glad you’re getting a chance to enjoy some of what there is to do here while you’re also busy unpacking. As much as there is to enjoy here, it is also fun to explore the surrounding communities, discover their unique shops, bakeries and sights. Enjoy!!!

Congratulations and welcome to Florida! I have friends in the north end The Villages and I think it really is an amazing concept. I live on the Gulf Coast of Florida because we salt water fish and have a boat, but I think The Villages is great option. There really is everything you can think of from golf, crafting, knitting, sewing, other sports, music...etc. The options are endless for those who like to do things. The Villages is a city comprising of three (one day four) "downtown" squares (restaurants, shops, medical offices etc). Each "downtown" consists of retail, social, restaurants etc, surrounded by medical & professional buildings & condos then there are villas & homes. Each downtown has different themes and shops and restaurants. Some have farmers markets on the weekends. On the perimeter of the entire city are automotive shops, more medical, shopping and restaurants. And of course, the best thing is you can get around the entire city by golf cart. You are not limited to the square of where you live. There are a lot of beautiful green areas. It is a great option especially for those who like to do things, but may not know a lot of people.

And you are lucky to have nice people, because I haven’t met any here, and I’m alone a lot. Congratulations on your new home! My brother and sister in law moved to Melbourne, FL about a year ago and absolutely love it! My brother has his own golf cart to get around and they take grandkids to the beach and around town . It has worked out well for them. I hope this all works well for you too. Take care.

Congrats!! We just got back home to PA late last night from our 6th trip to the villages. We ended up buying a home this time and we are so excited. Planning two trips down in July and September to do a few renovations to get it ready to rent for now until we come down permanently. You must go to the Island Fin Poke in Brownwood and get a bowl and then get a Dole whip for dessert! Enjoy!!!

My husband and I have been looking at The Villages for a while and have also decided to rent, hopefully February-March next year. We don't want to buy as we want to have options to see different parts of the US (we're from Ontario, Canada). You've also inspired me to start a KZitem channel (working on the premise of it currently, at the ripe old age of (almost) 65! Watching your videos has given me the confidence to start such a project...and who knows Kimberly, we may meet one day in The Villages and collaborate! Enjoy this new adventure, and hope to be joining you soon in the adventures of KZitem!

Congrats on your move! Sounds like fun. I used to live in Florida, make sure that you are very careful with the dog and the cat regarding crocodiles because they're in all the water over there, even in small ponds 🐊🐊🐊🐊

Yes, it's good to be safe with pets around water. There are no crocodiles here just alligators and you rarely see them.

This could be fun for a while and I know you will make the absolute best of the experience, Kimberly, which is a wonderful quality you possess. For me, the heat and humidity and lack of diversity would be a no. I also like being around younger adults. I live in Metro DC and, while expensive, there are so many things to enjoy everyday. Best wishes on this new adventure.

Yes I like being around various age people. I lived in Florida for a year. Most people stay indoors May-October due to the humidity. No thanks

What is wrong with you people. Nobody cares about your negative opinion or what you would or would not do. This vlog is about Kimberly’s journey and she welcomes us to see and hear about it. Please, please stop the negativity.

@@Sunshine0611 I mostly agree with you, but it’s also a forum to share thoughts with Kimberly and one another. No negativity meant toward Kimberly, whom I respect and admire. She will make it a great experience because that’s who she is. If we can’t share candidly with one another, the comments become less useful for me. I, for one, appreciate diversity of opinion and perspective. That’s one of the ways I learn and grow.

I was shocked and happy about your move. I've always wondered about your move to Aiken. It just seemed so lonely to me. I thought about the wintertime there too. Your life is going to be so great in Florida. So many people to meet and so much to do!!! I'm very excited for you. Congratulations!!!

We are all so happy for you and it looks like a wonderful place for you to be in Florida!. I was getting concerned because there weren't as many videos and since you usually take us on all of your journeys and all that is happening in your life I was concerned when there wasn't any conversation about what happened with Aiken, South Carolina? Wishing you every happiness! And thank you so much for all that you do for us and to make us feel like we are all one big family❤

I, too, knew something was up after your visit to the villages earlier. When I saw "Big Changes" this morning I just knew you had moved there. It wouldn't be for my husband and myself because we like being with younger people as well but I hope you like it there and enjoy all the things there are to do. I see your babies really like their back yard. Enjoy your new lifestyle!

Im in awe of your new location, I live in Australia and the only over 55s villages I have seen, which are usually gated communities the residents would only number in the hundreds yes there might be a pool, library, community dining room and hall but certainly nothing like where your living and no music 5 nights a week, what an awesome place to live. To be honest i didnt think i would watch the whole video but once you started talking about your trip I was hooked. Congratulations on your move it certainly seems to suit you right down to the ground. In Australia the big country towns would be from 60,000 to maybe 100,000 people of all ages so having an over 55s community of 150,000 people and the size it is, is just mind blowing to me 😅😅

I always say thank goodness we don’t all want the same thing that would be boring. I live in SW Florida on the water-Sarasota area. I am truly intrigued by the villages. I’ve lived in planned communities before and loved the beautiful surroundings without having to take care of any of it. It’s a stretch trying to find things to do that are fun. Bars and restaurants are not where it is at. So I definitely see the draw of the villages. I am so happy for you and that you walk to the beat of your own drum. I also like the fact that you made this decision on your own. Had you discussed it with your channel there would have been too many comments trying to convince you to live their life and not yours. Who knows Kimberly, I just might see you there sometime!! Enjoy your life. Looks like fun!!!!!!
