So relaxing and soothing to see a large amount of green grass being owned by mechanical equipment!

The JD 1025r will be my next tractor for small landscaping work, but my JD x570 goes hard on grass way higher without bogging down on the mowing side.

I just bought a 1023e yesterday.........can't wait to get it on Monday......I bought the 48in bush hog and the 60in drive over deck. Quick detatch loader looks like it will be nice too.

I also bought a rotary cutter, and a box blade. Last week I cut a wildly overgrown field. Cut right through it. That would have made for a good video but I didn't have my phone.

Matthew Musgrave A box blade is definitely worth having. I scraped a friend's gravel driveway and it did a great job.

I have been thinking of getting the same setup, how has ur experience been? I'm trying to cut down how much I mow regularly, thus why I'm thinking of the brushcutter also. I'm just thinking get a decent sized mower that can also handle rough cutting a few times a year also

The deck can cut some pretty thick stuff, as long as there's no stumps.

very nice set up, the quality of cut is very good for that length of grass but imo my massey ferguson 72 inch wide mower has a bigger throat to blow out more volume

Maybe it does, but I don't really have any problems with clogging. I've cut grass much higher than this.

Nice video. Looks like you knocked that out in basically 9 minutes. Pretty impressive for so much over growth. About how big of a lot is that area? I'm debating about a JD 758 (diesel riding mower) vs. 1025R. Specs are pretty close but seems like the 1025R can do more if I ever need it to. Did you look at other models?
@skaterman30

Rey Nardine I'm not really sure the exact size, it's not that big of a lot. And yeah if you ever need to do any tractor work, the 1025r would be the way to go. If your mostly mowing I'd get a zero turn. The x758 though is very capable for its size.

Where's your x540? I have a 2016 x730 with 105.9 hours on it with a 54inch high capacity mower deck with auto connect and a 47 inch auto connect snow blower. And nice job and slow down a bit.

The second my L110 dies for real, I need to get that mower deck. I have the 1023E, with bucket and backhoe. So much win. Enjoy!

It's definitely worth it. Once set up properly, it's cuts just as good as my x540.

What size deck and what lift option did you get? Anything you would change about your selection? Glad to see you chose the backhoe model, as i did too!

I have the 60 inch deck with the hydraulic lift. I kind of wish I would have went with the independent hydraulic lift so I wouldn't have to unhook one of the bucket hoses to plug in the deck hose. It isn't that big of a deal though, I take the bucket off when mowing anyway.

If you took off the discharge chute it wouldn't have that much trouble cutting that tall grass.

why are you throwing all that grass into the un-mowed part that its hard on that tractor and mower set up you can hear it bogging down turn around and blow it onto the grass you already mowed have you never mowed before i think i learned that when i was 8 years old, but you have a very nice set

I was cutting next to the house and fence. I made 2 passes like that so when I did go the other direction it wouldn't blow grass against the house and fence where I had to get with my trimmer. After that I was blowing on the cut part.

@@skaterman30 Would you say the X540 would mow 4.5 acres on the regular decently? Or should I look more into a zero turn. Not sure if I want multiple machines or a multi purpose unit.
