Little session using the Akai 'MPC Live 2' and a bunch of effects pedals. Using the MPC to mute in and out some pre-recorded parts and samples - also there's a Mellotron flute patch played live at various points.
The drum pattern in the MPC is triggering (via CV) the Rainger FX 'Snare Trap' for the drum sounds. I'm then sending the 'Snare Trap' on to the Meris 'Ottobit Jr.' to play with some of the stutter and sample rate/filter/bit crushing effects.
Then, to add some dirt and grit the drum signal is going into the 'Unpleasant Surprise' fuzz by Fairfield Circuitry. Finally, connecting to the brand new Rainger FX 'DFST-1 Stealth' pedal - also a fuzz - to experiment with some of the controls on there.
An improvisation in the sense that, while there are pre-recorded parts and I have some sense of direction, the pedal tweaks are free form. I'm running it all in to the DAW on separate channels via a Focusrite 'Clarett 4 Pre', so I could attempt to give it a bit of a mix at the end. Edited the video in Adobe 'Premiere Pro'.
It's a learning process for me across the board and while not totally happy with parts of the audio (and definitely need to get some decent cameras), I'm pleased enough with the result to post it out.
Hope you enjoy!
