Matt - real talk man - this is literally one of the best video tutorials ever made for the MPC Live. You broke it down to a level of minutia that other beat makers/producers refuse to even cover (for whatever reason ... yeah ... we all know why ... LOL). I appreciate your efforts, time and contribution to the greater community of users. I'll definitely spread the word about your channel and I hope it really grows and blows up. Great content and instruction.

Damn the workflow during the part where you’re hitting the slices that have been automatically assigned to the pads, and then moving the slice point with the scroll wheel is awesome. Taken me a long time to understand the Song/Sequence/Track/Program terminology but the sampling part seems like it’s gonna be fun! Got a live 2 turning up tomorrow after like a year of watching videos every now and then trying to get my head around it.

MPCs have always been expensive, they're standalone computers that make music. Look at the price of the MPC X and you'll see the Live is cheap! But you can go down further to the MPC Touch or Studio or the MPD series which aren't standalone devices, they need to work alongside a computer. I think the MPX16 is the cheapest standalone but it seems very basic and it's several years old now.
