As per usual for a Matthew Stratton video, there’s at least a couple of “oh that’s how you do it” moments! 👍🏽🙏🏽🇬🇧

Nice 20 inch Paiste. I need some decent cymbals, maybe I should start looking at pawn shops. I just want to play some basic stuff for beats on the MPC and all. Thanks for checking out the video!

This is awesome. I would love a tutorial on how you break down the publishing rights and writers share through your PRO on tracklib. I also would love to see how you create your beats in key for the mpc one. I make beats through my daw and I am starting to get interested in how you make beats on mpc.

I love it. Thank you for the awesome tutorial, Matt. Were all the elements in that dope track from the same song you downloaded from Traclib? And Happy New Year!

I really get a lot out of your tutorials. Thank you for all your hard work. I have found that the best way to avoid copyright and or patents is to not use other artists music in my productions. No matter how I slice it and dice it, when using others material, they know their work well and I think most can recognize it very easily. Although it is a blast to mess around with the powerful sampler, I have a lot of fun sampling acoustic instruments and other sound sources that can be made into music. Sound design is an art form and is growing fast, especially with the surge of modular synthesis. I have a tremendous amount of respect for those folks who do sample other music, because that is an art form as well! I just find it easier to stay away from using music as a sampling source, this way it is 100% mine.

Hi Mathew another great video, just as a sidebar, with reference to the track you made, how many seconds of sample would you say you used? And how much publishing percentage would it cost you? Just want to get a feel for these costs from using track lib... thanks in advance. And keep up the videos very useful 👍
@MatthewStratton

I would have to go back and measure it. But I think it was 15 seconds or less in a category C. So that would be $50 up front with 10% revenue share. When you register your song you tell Tracklib the exact time you sampled from the original, but you can use that part as much as you like in your song.

How does it work if you upload it to youtube , to channel that isnt moneytized? Cuz there many hip hop remixes for example on there where they used the vocals of famous rappers in their own beats

I get a prompt that asks me if I want still want to transfer with no properties! What's that mean? Why do I have so much trouble trying to save my music or send to collaborators?

I have been using My Mac for Click tracks, I would use GarageBand to loop them, they are only about 6 to 10 seconds long. I transferred them to the MPC one via usb. All I wana do is load them (which I did) and loop them and use them like I did with my Mac, I don’t need to edit or cut them… just wana load them, loop them and save them. How do I do this?
