Aside from the limit switches, is there any crash protection in the event of a limit switch failure or disconnect? Will the stepper motors on the Y axis even produce enough torque to wreck anything? Really keen on the ballscrew and stepper choice. Very easy to replace and source (In the unlikely event you'll need to replace them ever).

Yes the machine has Soft Limits (covered in the next video). This protects the machine from even hitting into the hardstops since the software knows where it is in the machine travel range and it will stop it's movement. Also, the machine was designed to crash! It won't hurt anything to rapid full speed into the hardstops.

Have you had any issues with chips causing issues with the limit switches when homing both y axis? Some of the videos of the high MRR looks like chips are going everywhere

We cover this in the next video actually! It's always good practice to get your air gun and blow the switches clean before a homing cycle.

If we have the enclosure do we need to run the cables any different. Or do we just disconnect them from the control box and run them through the grommet hole and reconnect.

It’s no different, just disconnect the cables and pass them through the grommet.

Cable management is a slight disappointment. Why no cable carriers?
