picked one up at a yard sale for $4, works great! like the auto-clean feature. had a problem with it overflowing at first, did the clean cycle with vinegar per instructions, and it works fine now.

I too, bought mine Mr. Coffee from CostCo, and you are right about the space for the ability to pour water in, It's very small! Now, I bought this coffee maker about 8 months ago and it has stopped dispensing water into the pot. The reason I bought this coffee maker brand is that I had a Mr. Coffee for 15 years and never a problem ! We switched to BUNN for the reason of having coffee ready in 2 minutes. The BUNNS broke down within two years of each purchase and I went through 2 BUNN coffee makers. I'm so tired of buying coffee makers! I need someone to tell me how I can fix my Mr. Coffee (Model #BVMC-IMX41)! I can't even clean it!

@TheStrangeOne14

I have two of these _(BVMC-ECX41). They're nice, but they have issues. The water leaking from underneath is likely a hose/tube that came off. Reattach it and use the clamp that's there. If the hose seems too short, get some high temp silicone 9mm i.d. hose and make it longer. Silicone tubing is very fussy about sharp edges and ragged cuts. If it doesn't heat up, one of the two thermal fuses going to the heating element may have failed. Check them and the heating element for continuity with a multimeter. If you have to replace either of those, the wires have to be either welded or crimped together, as solder will likely melt due to the high heat generated by the heating element. I have done these repairs.

I have this model, Mr. Coffee 12 Cup model BVMC-ECX41 and never had a coffee maker do this, can anyone tell me why this is happening. Yes I did the cleaning when the light came on, only used vinegar. Here’s my problem; I set the program for delay and when I got up there was water everywhere that came from the coffee pot. There was no water left inside at all. So I cleaned up all the water, and put more water in the coffee maker and hit brew, I notice water still was leaking from under the coffee pot. I also notice the cleaning light doesn’t come on anymore. I’ve never had a coffee maker that leak’s water from underneath the machine. Why is this happening?

You can stick the water filter in the little flanges on the bottom of the holder instead of just putting it loosely on top...
@TSGChannel2

Indeed it looks like it was made to be used that way! We stopped using ours shortly after this review was produced because it did not seem to be affecting the quality of the brew. I have now dug it back up and I'm going to re-test it with the filter in the flanges. Maybe it wont be quite as much of a mess to deal with. But will it make the coffee taste better?
@lewisticknor

I am probably too primitive to notice if it tastes better. I just brewed my first pot this morning, I did have a french press...which broke, then I was pouring boiling water, which took forever over the grounds in a paper towel into a German Bierstein. The taste is OK with the Mr. Coffee thing...but not as strong as I am used to.

Just purchased Mr. Coffee Model BVMC-MJX41-NWF, presumably a newer model? Has good features, e.g. same larger water-spray, but brew-strength ("strong") doesn't seem to make any difference. BTW, for filling water reservoir, just use a small-neck bottle to pour, not carafe.
@TSGChannel2

I was using what it comes with to make the point. I don't have a small neck bottle and think it would be pretty lame to have to buy something specific like that for one use around the house. :)

Funny you should mention that. I just cleaned mine today (true story!). You load the reservoir with vinegar then push the upper right button until the red light next to the "clean" label comes on (look at the picture at 2:37 in the video). It runs for about 2 cups then waits about 20 minutes and finishes brewing the rest of the vinegar. After that, run water through a couple times and it's good to go!
@jonathancortes1108

TSG Ch 2 I did that but when I select the “clean” option and release the button, instead of start cleaning it just cycles the lights like a streetlight (it goes from green to yellow to red and so on)

Yah, Mr C. does a good job at selling a coffee pot. Just thinking that mine must be a decade old too and so little repeat business and why I think they come up with a replacing filter to boost revenue. But buying a filter every month is still far cheaper than those K cup awful coffee brewers. What a fraud perpetrated on us. Coffee has never tasted as good as pot brewed Mr C. and those Ks are stupid expensive as are the brewers. We use a plastic gallon tea jug we refill water from water machines for making coffee as our well water is awful tasting. They have a smaller spout to aim into the makers opening.

This coffee machine is a piece of crap. We have had nearly every feature break within a couple of months if purchasing. The latest return was for a broken or stuck heating plate switch. It shuts down the entire operation when the warming plate does not function. I think we have returned 4-5 within a year. One star from me. Don’t waste your time.

These reviews are erroneous when the reviewers never read the manual and criticize the product for not using it correctly. 2 things - the filter wasn’t installed in the filter holder and secondly the water meant to be poured with the lid down and open the water inlet door on top of the unit. Next time read the manual or use more common sense.
@TSGChannel2

Geoffrey Johnson: there is no such thing as a "water inlet door" on this coffee maker. The water filtration disk, whether installed properly or not, is pretty worthless and just makes a mess. Your criticism is poppycock.

Do I have to use the plastic reusable filter or can I replace it with good ol paper filters??
@scottp5803
7 ай бұрын
Yes you can use paper filters, just remove any reusable filters from the Brew basket and insert your coffee filter and coffee..... Bought mine at a GoodWill thrift store and have used it with and without the reusable filters and I find less sediment and grounds using the fine mesh reusable filters. But use what you like, but at least you can use up those left over paper filters till they're gone. Mine also didn't come with that extra chlorine filter set up, but I wouldn't have used it anyway as I use Hinkley and Schmidt purified water for my coffee and drinking.

Thank you, John... I take coffee seriously, lololol... This video review was very important to me because it was a Mr. Coffee maker or a Ninja C091 coffee pot... The difference in cost could be between 35 to 170 dollars. with the Ninja coming in at 205 degrees, per cup... Two things, 1) both these coffee pots break down after about two or three years, (at end of, (the extended), warranty)... 2) Coffee temperature just goes bad after time... No matter how much I spend on a coffee pot... So, I decided to go with a winning solution, I bought a $32.99 coffee pot, Coletti "Bozeman" Percolator, 100% Stainless Steel... Now my coffee will always be Hot and will last about fifteen years or more... (Just so tired of crappie disposable coffee pots that break down in a few short years!!!) More videos, please...
