Love the story of Jekyll and Hyde Jekyll and Hyde are the same but separate. It is much like a mix of Jack(the narrator) and Tyler in fight Club and The hulk. Hyde represent the psychological shadow of of Jekyll. He wants the confidence and power that Hyde has and loves the feeling of it but he is afraid because he can not control Hyde (his shadow) also Hyde recognizes the value of control and intellect Jekyll has. Jekyll is terrified of Hyde (his shadow) so he represses and separates himself from it. Because of that he is a weak reserved man with no value. As the exchange earlier goes Allan Quartermain : Jekyll, come on! We'll need Hyde! Dr. Henry Jekyll : No! Hyde will never use me again. Dorian Gray : Then what good are you? Separate they are useless, dangerous and a disaster. But if they work together (Jekyll integrates his shadow) they/he is immeasurably strong.

One amazing thing is the actor when put into the Mr. Hyde make up this wasn’t a quick process. He had to spend. I think it was almost like five or six hours just getting everything set up for the prosthetics for the oversized body. And also depending on the kind of scenes that he was going to be doing they also needed to alter it. For instance, if all he was going to be doing was walking around then elongated arms were built using a lightweight frame that allowed him to essentially walk almost like a gorilla. In this particular scene, they actually had specially made a set of those hands with large articulated fingers. This way he was actually able to grab those two lever mechanisms. But yeah, events like that always remind me that there will always be actors and actresses and stuff that are probably going to be spending quite literally so much time in the make up chair that let’s be honest you probably swear that they would be wondering why they decided to become an actor or actress.
