most of what she was doing in this argument was gaslighting but the emergency contact I think actually says a lot about how much she really does love him. Really think about it she isn't a full on orphan she has her dad he's by all means alive and well and she seems to know he is okay so she must have some way to contact him and put him as an emergency contact just in case. But instead she chose John because she trust him that much with her life which is huge for someone with her personality especially if you find out more about her in the finale which I don't want to spoil in case you haven't seen it. But ultimately it really hit me because it showed how when it came down to it she really does trust John enough to mark him as the one person she believes will be there for her if things go to shit.

Yeah ngl, I see a lot of people blame John for his part in how the season ends, but Jane constantly treating him like he's stupid is just as much of a problem. Half the time her trying to make up for his "stupidity" directly leads to their failures, and on paper it makes her look better to hihi because his contribution to the missions is less easily listed. Like think back to the gambling scene. That's taken straight from the movie, they have a good time, he gains their trust, and then he kills them. Here, Jane thought John would get too attached, and frankly was getting mad at the act he put on which WAS a little sexist and racist but that was _intentional._ She knows with how sociopathic she is she would still be able to kill them, but doesn't think John is capable of it in spite of how many he's killed thus far. So she kills them while he's still at the table, both because she doesn't respect John's ability, she's impatient, and she can't compartmentalize well enough to realize he was not genuinely bonding over racist shit with them. So now you have a situation where Jane's sniper kills were only possible because of the risk John took creating a cold cover, disarming everyone at the table with his charm, and got them all gathered in one place. But on paper, it just looks like John was in the room for a long time then Jane acted first, getting more kills than John. Never mind the fact she almost got John killed, that's inconsequential, so hihi gives her all the praise and starts viewing John as expendable.

Eh, it's deeper than that. Yes you are right, but you're missing the fact a big problem in their relationship is John's NEED to feel like a strong providing man. A big point of contention during the therapy episodes is John feeling insecure that Jane picked up everything he knew about the field, and she picked it up fast and does it well if not better, which is highlighted by the fact that she was offered a chance to replace him when hihi noticed performance and initiative differences, not to mention the fact that John, compared to Jane does sloppier work. It's a complicated problem where both people are in the wrong, no one side is right. John has issues with self esteem and needing to feel like a provider, so he clings to the idea of helping his mother, and Jane has issues with trusting others, keeping her closed off and not fully allowing herself to be within the care and control of another person.
