Brings back happy memories as I was on the Show in 1974 and we won the Jackpot. Wish I had video footage😞

We're only here for a short time so we may as well be nice to one another. Love this song and remember the programme from when I was a kid.

I love this song! In terms of who wrote and performed it... here's a reply from my questions to ChatGPT: "The theme tune for the "Mr. and Mrs." television show on Borders Television in the 1970s was composed by Ronnie Aldrich and performed by the Geoff Love Orchestra. Ronnie Aldrich was a British composer and conductor known for his work in the easy listening and light orchestral music genres. Geoff Love was a British orchestra leader and composer known for his easy listening and orchestral arrangements. The Mike Sammes Singers were a vocal group led by British musician and vocal arranger Mike Sammes. They were known for their studio work, including backing vocals for various artists and recording commercial jingles. In the case of the "Mr. and Mrs." theme, the Mike Sammes Singers provided the vocal rendition for the song."

I know this is an old post but it was actually written by Jackie Trent and Tony Hatch, they wrote a lot of TV theme tunes including Neighbours.

Back in the day when game shows were a happy family affair, good natured and friendly. Now they attack the contestants with rabid dogs or encourage players to stab their opponents in the back with goldenballs and the spirit of fair play has truly gone by the by. I so miss the 70's and 80's.

True. However it would have been even better if the country had been sufficiently enlightened to allow all couples to take part, not just those that happened to conform to the heterosupremacist norm.

Richard J Armstrong agreed. Paul Newman put it best. "There are so many things that make up a human being. What they do with their private parts is so far down the list as to be inconsequential"

Down with heterosupremacism! Rise up, LGBTQI+ people and our supporters --- the rights being denied us are human rights, NOT heterosexual privileges!

Richard J Armstrong I don't see the LGBT community being denied any rights whatsoever in today's society. I don't even see hetrosupremecy as you put it as even being a thing any more that I see prejudice on you good people.

I have no prejudices whatsoever, being gay is not a crime. However, science and biology is not on your side in this argument. If it was natural, male and females would be able to reproduce with any partner of their choice and a man's back passage would self lubricate. They don't. As Ronald Reagan once said. "Facts are stubborn things".

I find it funny how people look back on this crap and say 'Great days', it's only because they were kids and didn't have to work and pay bills. We had 3 tv channels which went off at midnight 😂
