In the February 2021 issue of The Brahman Journal, the American Brahman Breeders’ Association (ABBA) listed +Mr. V8 380/6 as the top-producing gray bull in the Register of Renown.
Brahman enthusiasts won’t need an introduction to this bull, whose worldwide impact has been proven time and time again. Jim Williams identified +Mr. V8 380/6 as a "breed changer" at birth. And, indeed, this famous bull laid the foundation for the modern type of V8 cattle and their success. Even after a decade of use, 380/6 is still the leading sire of championship cattle at V8 Ranch. Nicknamed “The Machine” later in life because of his incredible consistency, 380/6 dominated the ABBA show circuit as the number one sire of show champions from 2011-2018. He remains as relevant as ever, having recently sired the 2019 International Champion Female, and both the 2020 National Champion Female and Bull. Red or gray, domestic or international, +Mr. V8 380/6 transformed the breed. Heavily muscled, very attractive, and balanced in his phenotype, 380/6 expresses excellent breed character. Most importantly, he is athletic and structurally correct from every angle.
A performance Brahman bull, +Mr. V8 380/6 ranks in the top 1% for weaning weight, yearling weight, carcass weight, and ribeye area. A trait leader in five designations, he is the #2 ranking bull for yearling weight and carcass weight; #6 for scrotal circumference and tenderness and #9 in weaning weight. As a two-year-old he weighed 2,190 pounds with a hip height of 63 inches.
+Mr. V8 380/6 passed away in April 2019; he is buried near the carved V8 on the Boling ranch of V8 Ranch.
