Just passed my class in 40* rain and sleet. The box was the most nerve-wracking but a few of the other guys in class said I made it look like I had been doing it for years. NAILED IT!

On the swerving lane test, we had to get up to 20mph swerve around the box in 2nd gear, brake and downshift to first

Were the cones more visible in person than they are from the video? Also how clear are the instructions on when to turn and where, so many lines and cones on the ground I'd be worried about doing the wrong things.

+UpdatedUser I've watched a MSF course in person (a coworker, ended up failing it). You can see them fine, plus instructors tell you the path you need to take and sometimes will have more than one instructor outside to help make sure riders stay on the correct line.

I took this course a couple of weeks ago. This is the EXACT layout of the course that I took in Bonita Springs, FL (it was on the grounds of the Greyhound race track). I received a perfect score for my efforts, i.e., no points were deducted. My biggest complaint about the layout is that one track has numerous paths. The instructor had me to go first each time --after watching an assistant coach drive the course one time.If you are the unlucky one to drive first, you need a perfect memory to remember which path to ride on. Also, the number of cones used to layout the part of the course that was not drawn with lines should have been doubled or even tripled. I understand why they etch out multiple paths onto one track and that is because it would take many more square feet to layout a driving range with all of these exercises permanently etched out with clearly visible painted lines that mark the path from beginning to end, however, that would be the perfect layout. On the first day we lost 2 women from the class and on the second day one guy failed the driving test. We were driving the brand new Harley 500s. They had governors to control speed and they were equipped with crash bars.

Thanks for this video, this course seems so much more involved than the one i did a few years back in South Australaia they're very basic with it all and pass just about anyone hahaha, im going for it again as i let my license expire not thinking i was going to ride again oh how wrong i was, either way very nice video again not a bad taste in music choice too cheers!

I hope they use bigger or brighter (more noticable) cones when I take the test. Maybe it's just the video but I couldn't really tell what was part of the exercises you were doing.

Anthony Abercrombie No. In fact, they don't recommend it specifically because if you do crash, it'll be out of your pocket rather than their insurance's pocket.

Yeah, exactly. You don't have to bring your own bike at all :) They have a variety of bikes...all from cruisers, to supermotos, to sport-bikes; all of that stuff. Different MSF courses have different bikes, but for the most part, all bikes are under 500cc. Most around 125cc and 250cc. It will lower your insurance and teach you verily valuable information :D I hope you go! Have fun, and stay lovely man!

So after you pass the MSWF course do you still have to take the DMV Written and Riding test? online it says you just get a 90 day waiver if you pass the course

Great video bud! Did you have riding experience before you took the course or was this your first time on a bike? I heard the figure 8 is a bit difficult, what is your advice on that? Thanks
@Sachifu

First time on a motorcycle, but the concept needed for the figure 8 (leaning out of the turn) is just as easily learned on a bicycle. Also, our instructor was kinda blown away that we did as well as we did on the figure 8...

50 questions that were very similar to the questions in the MSF Basic Rider booklet that you received. Just make sure you study the practice questions in the back of the book and you will do fine. I made a 98 on the test after studying the questions for about a half hour.

Hey!... This is, maybe, a FLYING course with music... ;( (No body is teaching anything about Motorcycling in this video MSF.
@Sachifu

... The video demonstrates what you do, which the key component to the course is receiving individualized feedback... which the instructors says things (drowned out by the music) for my specific scenario. As it was for me specifically, I don't think its appropriate for others to really try to learn from it because someone may be over-doing something that I under-do... etc. The MSF videos on my channel (by the way I'm not affiliated with them) are not meant to replace the course. They're more to serve as an intro to help you succeed/get an idea for what you might be paying for.
