I have found that by putting the plane in Alt HLD mode instead of Profile. After V/DEV shows up on PFD, hit Profile to capture descend profile.

Thanks. I was confused since on INIbuilds own videos they tell you to press the "profile" buttom. I tried that and accidential pressed twice and ended in approach mode, causing the plane to slow down to vref speed. I better like your method. Reminds me much more of the normal 320 method 🙂

The VNAV issue is normal. The real A310 was not really good with VNAV. I heard that on inibuilds channel.

That the plane may not be very sophisticated? Certainly possible That it just acts up like in the video? Absolutely impossible. That stuff would never get certified.

@@A330Driver Have you tried having the plane in ALT HLD mode prior to reaching TOD? I've seen a few A310 pilots using ALT HLD instead of Profile on Cruise.

Primarily because it would just hart me as a professional pilot just to set it down to the plattform altitude right at cruise level. That just doesn't happen in real life in Germany. Thus I choose some intermediate level which wasn't too close to either our present altitude or the ILS plattform level.

Hello, Dear Captain; I have a question for you. I have tried this plane 3 times since it was published. Twice during the full descent phase, I lost both engines at about 14 thousand feet. The weather conditions are fine. No icing. No turbulence. Ignition was off in both. Could this have an impact? Would you have a suggestion about the problem? Thank you very much.

if inibuilds does update the aircraft would the update show up in the MSFS content manager since the aircraft was put out onto MSFS for free?

The update would come as part of the overall MSFS update I believe. At least that's how it worked in the past.

Seems like the 310 has issues with "between" constraints to me, that's why it just vanishes. The problem is not the way VNAV is triggered (which might work your way), but that the VNAV path just vanishes all over. If there's no path shown there's no sense pressing PROFILE either.

Great video again, thank you for this tutorial series. Shame about the lack of VNAV/Managed mode. Is this rate of descent realistic? ~5000fpm seems like it would be very uncomfortable for passengers 😮

Passengers don't notice your rate of descend all they care about is the deck angle. As long as that's not excessive (surely we were on the boundary here, but we sometimes just need to do it) they won't notice.

@@AlexFroiants right under the fuel switches for the engines is a small panel you will see four numbers. That knob on the left you need to turn that to TA/RA that turns the transponder on, and use the middle knob to set the correct squawk code.
