**TOP HAT PROCEDURE BELOW**
The AutoPilots continue the A320 Type Rating course for Microsoft Flight Simulator, with today's lesson on Flaps and Slats faults. Specifically we are looking at the Flaps locked procedure, activated by the wing tip brake. As for all our lessons, this video will be divided into two parts: The theory, where we will look at the flows and memory items, as well as other considerations when dealing with a flaps/slats failure. We will then have a practical demonstration which will show the management of the failure, including the memory items as discussed in the theory, a DODAR, and an approach & landing with the flaps locked.
We are real world airline pilots, who want to share our knowledge and experience with you, so if you have any questions, ask away in the comment section below! We hope you enjoy, and would love it if you could like and subscribe to our channel. It really helps us out and motivates us to make more content.
Happy landings :)
**TOP HAT MCDU**
The "Top Hat" flow is designed for pilots to manage the MCDU appropriately when diverting. It is a flow to cover all considerations for the FMGS, and is as follows:
F-PLN - Enter new destination, and relative approach procedure
RAD NAV - manually tune radio navaids if required
PROG - (optional) - enter the threshold of the new runway (e.g. EIDW10R)
PERF - enter the weather and performance figures
FUEL PRED - ensure fuel is sufficient
SEC F-PLN - as required
This flow is done in the pattern of a top hat: _ _ - - _ _
