Just disabled boost by putting processed power to 99% and thermals dropped by around 15 degrees on the cpu under gaming load
@TECH360TV

That's great! But yeah, a lot of companies are going all out to hit max boost clocks despite the high temperatures and minimal impact on frame rates in most games.

@@TECH360TV Tbh when im gaming id much prefer the lower thermals for longevity rather than the extra few frames. Presume many will be in the same boat. Sucks that you cant disable it in all laptops though

This is exactly what I do as well. I get around 20 degrees less on the cpu and only lose about 10fps.

Someone mentioned that msi gs66 does not support undervolting. Can you look up that..

In the BIOS Press Right Shift + Right Control + left alt + F2, there under advanced you can enable overclocking and XTU interface

It does. Look at jarrod tech’s video. Thats how i did mine. And used throttlestop to further tweak voltages and clock speeds etc. So yeah it is undervoltable

@@matomfg_ Man tbh only afterwards i bought the gs66 i saw the ge66 and i was like damn thats the perfect comp. But i got my base model gs66 for approx 1862 USD. It was 1599$ on amazon. Im from Trinidad and Tobago so i just converted everything and ended up with 1862 USD as my final price after taxes and shipping from amazon. The ge66 would have def been more pricey and it would have taken away from the light aspect i was aiming for since im a student and i dont wanna be carrying around a tank of a computer on my back. Im currenty running a -99.6mv undervolt to the cpu as well as the cores are clocked at 4.1, 3.9, 3.8, 3.7 ghz and so on down to the least core. My temps are still pretty insane for the titles i play. I usually play valorant, league, cod warzone and mp, and apex and i havent seen crazy drops in performance (if any at all). I still hit the 240fps on games like csgo and valorant even with the undervolt and underclock. Also, i underclocked my gpu and its currently only allowed to boost up to 1420mhz and that seems to be helping the temps further. For the lower demanding games, my temps dont cross 75, but in warzone and apex it hovers around the 79- max 85 degrees C mark. My room is usually 24 degrees c and i have my comp elevated on top of a cooling pad. I also increased the fan profiles slightly so they will operate at slightly higher rpms to cool the system. The noise isnt a big deal for me since im wearing headphones. So in all, this thin and light was worth it for me and i'd recommend it to anyone but i'd say its subjective. Im not sure what a base model ge66 would cost however because i wasnt able to find any on amazon nor did i check MSI's website yet but i dont think it can match the 1599$ price oi paid for me gs66. Also i just stuck in a 1tb ssd along with a thermal repaste on the gpu and cpu. I did it myself and as an amateur, it wasnt crazy hard but it took patience and the right tools.

Hi thanks for this great review! Do you know what the sRGB rate is for the 240 Hz 2070 max Q version? Would this computer be suitable for some photo & heavy Video/audio editing? Thanks in advance!
@TECH360TV

The 240Hz panel is also 100% sRGB and yes, this laptop would be suitable for photo and heavy video editing. It can take the punch.

Is the fan noise too loud when its on low setting? Im afraid if im using it for online meeting, it will produce some noise when its on low settings
@TECH360TV

Shouldn’t be an issue. It’s barely audible at low rpm.

If you can afford to wait, by all means. But do note that you'll have to wait even longer, before those cards are available for laptops.
