Re Santa Cruz, I LOVED them since way back when the first VPP equipped alloy Nomad came out. Now days, while they were a 'premium' brand back then, I personally feel that they take the pi$$ with their pricing points now to ensure their 'mystique', and buy default, i believe they rake in stupidly high margins off that mystique at our expense. I say this, as when looking at e-bikes (something I have a 'better than average' understanding as to what they cost to build), I feel that they are just abusing their market position to charge, in some cases, almost double what a brand like Trek or Giant would for an equivalent bike (price up an equivalent 'non-t-type equipped' Rail or Reign E to a Heckler) - and for that, my love for the brand has been leaving me as while business is business, ethics from a brand have to remain also!. Specialized is a brand I put into the same category, excl. I have personally never had any love for them for some reason (like they still make fantastic bikes, no question there!).
