Kruu Pedro trained in WC for several years whilst in america. his forte is muay thai (check his muay thai CV!) but he incorporates some WC aspects into his teaching - the sensitivity, relaxation and so on. his groundwork isn't bad either! he's a true martial artist and immensely human and funny into the bargain. hope i get the chance to train there again. peace

Dear Felipe thank you we are not offended. We appreciate comments from teachers with extensive knowledge and experience. We are just training with different concepts to fit different circustances. Mainly in the ring and in the street. We don't want to create a new style or anything like We dont want to prove anything just train everyday smile and be healthy. Occasionally we enter in the ring here in Thailand. 20 fights is enough to understand certain things about ourselves.

martial arts are concepts of movements according to earth gravity; the mind label these concepts and put them a name. The word wing chun or muay thai are just words and in the past or in the future they will evolve or dissapiar sooner or later. Nothing stays the same funasdog. In our school we use these concepts and some training methods from different martial arts according to our needs. It's important I believe, to accept (even if we are not agree) the oppinion of others. Have a blessing day

I think Khun Pedro should visit an old teacher of mine in malaysia by the name of Jak Othman. He is teaching the malay version of muay called Tomoi. He is also well versed in bersilat of harimau gayong and hius family art harimau berantai(to chain the tiger). He at one time lived in L.A. while attending UCLA. He also knows guru Inosanto. Also about hearing his trip to Indonesia he should stop in to Bandung and train at Pau Suwandas(RIP) school under Bambang his brother. school

According to antonio graceffo, kru pedro wanted to travel to cambodia to recognise cambodian bokator as the origin of martial arts in thailand and cambodia. Culture develops by adapting and there's nothing wrong with influence so long as there's some sort of recognition.

Khmer never deny of the Indians influence. Beside, the Khmer ancestors were from Indian and even name the first kingdom as Kambuja. But this is beside the point and there seem to be a lot of miss perceptions. As long as Muay Thai still practices the culture ritual of Twai Kru (changed to Wai Kru) or the tattoo of Khmer script on their body, it is a pure Khmer invention and should preserve as such.

I love those moves, man! What is that called and where is it from ... Thailand? Is that Muay Thai? Traditional Muay Thai, maybe? I see similarities with the Wing Chun system and it also explains why real Muay Thai fighters always beat WC pretenders (LOL). I'm a WC guy and I'm saying this ... but htere a lot of similarities with the WC system if you know where to look.

Heck that looks very much like Okinawan Bo Kata. I have seen comments that "Muay Boran doesn't work because it's old". I saw it as more trash talk from the 'never trained in the lives fanboys'. As I watched the movesments early on in the video working in four directions, I saw what appeared to be Grappling Techniques and Trapping. Many of these kids can't see beyond pounding someone against the ground. It's very sad.

The ancient Siam copied the art from Khmer but either lost in translation or word was too hard to use in the Siam dialogue, so word cut off (i.e. Khmer Krom to Khom but was not dare to change the yantra, which still use in Khmer arksar Moul) imagine western the third try to learn, so the confusion will lead to further.

Let me give you one hint Khmer form of water elements is called Sra Ggair Pan, latest found during King Jayavarman VII, the Khmer Chambabb-wrestling like style, but more emphasis on striking and bone crashing. But it is not Wing Chun LOL!!

Thai alphabets, Thai vowels and Thai numerals were created by Khmers for Tai people. Khmers taught Tai people of Khmer civilization and thats how the Khmer and the Thai culture are identical. Tai people lost their Tai root and origin to the Mongol, then to the Chinese and they lost their Siam root again to the Burmese, so Tai people created a new root now is called Thai means Free.

Thailand history claimed Tai people fought Khmer Empire for Tai Independence, but there was no war record founded between the Tai people and the huge Khmer Empire army when the Tai people became Independence from the Khmer Empire. Tai people cant protect their land Nanchao from the Mongol invasion, so Tai people cant fight against the huge Khmer Empire army. Khmer King gave the Tai people freedom. If you want to know the history of Muay Thai, check the Twai Kru (Wai Kru) ritual dance.

It's "Sukhotei" means dawn of happiness, not dawn of free LOL as of "Sukhothai."Modern day Thailand is made of a mix of ethnic groups. Southern Thais have Malaysian/Indonesia ancestry. Central and northeast Thailand has Cambodian Ancestry. Sukhotei was a gift from King Jayavarman VII to his daugther princes Maha Davi who married to a Tai general Khun Pha Muang. I am not a historian and it useless to argue.

...master Duncan Leung improved their techniques starting from their experiences in combat against formidable warriors, of course improved and / or developed a method, even though he has not merged the Wing Chun martial art or another, and this makes us traditionalist. On the other hand if the muay sanhga will be a martial art genunina must have their own techniques, which in my concept would make a martial art unequaled, so the rest would just imitation.

The ancient Siam didn't "copy" the Khmer but it was so close together, so it influenced just like the Indians influence religion and language to the Khmer. So would it be fair if the Indians try to claim that the Khmer stole their culture?

*Some facts about Muay Chaiya* The Muay from the city of Chaiya mainly refers to a certain Ajarn Ket Sriyapai. Ket Sriyapai was the son of a governor who was active in sports promotion and brought Muay Veti fighters (Muay Thai) from Chaiya to Bangkok to promote them there. Ajarn Khet never learned Muay Thai himself. The only reason why he is called "Ajarn" is that he has written and published some (fictional) stories about Muay Thai fighters. Ajarn Ket came from a high-ranking family and therefore never fought in a boxing ring. That would have been inappropriate for his standing. His actual profession was civil servant in the building industry. Later Muay Chaiya generations (for example Ket's school friend Tonglor Yalee) mixed normal Muay Thai techniques with Silat (Indonesia), Wushu (China) and Jiu Jitsu (Japan). For these reasons Muay Chaiya, and everything that comes from this direction, can neither be called an old nor a real Thai martial art. But that shit MUAY THAI is this? When you start your Ramuay until I found odd, but okay is a new form, a new style, even acceptable. After you put the techniques of Krabi Krabong, yes there is a bit acceptable at the root of it and many confuse with boran muay boran or elder, BUT MY FRIEND WHEN YOU PLACE OF WING CHUN TECNICAS....
