Second day watching horseshoeing, that Idaho school and Maupin have a new contender. Man, this stuff is so addictive, how am I supposed to go through my day without watching this anymore 😂

@@albertorangelbernal7333I don't view the channels as similar. I was just listing my favourites. I watch Maupin and Jeffers for the quiet process, but I watch S&S and Idaho School for the descriptive process. I'm a city-dweller through and through. I probably have seen a horse in person like twice in my life. So, I don't know if they know what they're doing or not at all. You can tell me what channels you think are good if you know better. I'd go check em out :)

@@albertorangelbernal7333 Maupin is the one with no clue. He carves off so much sole and frog, he has to be laming horses. Idaho does awesome work.

The Idaho Horseshoeing School ones are my favorite because they build the shoes and give detailed descriptions if the horse has a serious issue.

My ringer finger nail looks like your thumb, lol. For very different reasons but still an occupational hazard for the hands of hard workers. Very satisfying to see an animal taken care of and how fast they bounce back with some tlc and persistence. I admire the patience of farriers.

Good remedial shoeing.....(Looks like you have damaged your thumb nail at some point, with the bruised nail. That must have hurt!) Excellent work 👏 as always, on a very overgrown and damaged hoof wall. Great video as always, showing consistent knowledge and expertise. I'd have you shoe my horse any time. 😃

Sometimes an animal's condition isn't really the owner's fault at all, sometimes genetic makeup comes into play causing some conditions. It could be diet as well(Sometimes that's the case if not genetic). I like to keep this in mind as well as make it an awareness to others who might not know. I had a pet invertebrate that had a genetic condition that caused her to have DKS(Dyskinetic Syndrome), which is followed by jerky movement, no appetite and very poor coordination. When others had saw my pet spider, I was met with "She wouldn't be like this if you were giving her water", which they didn't understand that, even if she did have water... This still would unfortunately happen since it is... Well possibly an inheritance. Things like this can happen and be out of the owner's control. I could not have possibly prevented the condition with my own pet. This, This being the very reason why I don't ever put blame on anyone who has an animal like this horse on, "Why'd they let this happen." We don't know the whole story so it's better to not immediately jump to conclusions. If we knew what was really going on, could be a whole different scenario. That's all I can really say.

The iron is too narrow, with two caps at the sides, so the farrier did not understand the hoof mechanism. Oil on a dry hoof will make it even more dry. I would this farrier never ever do my horse :(

If you want to make your videos better make sure the background is not lighter than the subject you’re working on. At 34 seconds into this video, you can clearly tell that the lightness of the floor and the light behind the horse is interfering with good video of the hoof. Don’t take it the wrong way you folks are excellent at fixing horses hooves I don’t expect you to be perfectly good at video but you can improve.
