Verfügenichtüberdienötigekreativität Good luck finding one in the US to do a mud test on. The closest thing I can think of is a HK SL8
@scottwatrous
6 жыл бұрын
The SL8 is, mechanically, close enough to the G36 that it would make a viable stand in. The only thing I'd make sure of is that it has the vented foregrip to ensure some muck gets on the gas piston which is exposed in there. Also, I had a SL8 fully converted to G36 spec by cutting the receiver and grafting on the end of a demilled G36, and I was far from the only one; so there are probably a number of those to choose from, tho good luck getting any of them to agree to the pointless mud test. (Wish I hadn't sold mine for college money. I'd have potentially been crazy enough to offer as long as I could be there to watch)
@gleisbauer25

Ashley Weeks the SL8 isn’t the only civilian variant of the G36. I shot a newer model looking like a G36c, but I don’t recall it’s exact Name. But except for fully auto it was the same (outside, I didn’t see the internals).

Not conclusively but the assumption is solid. The G36 is rather sealed the same way as the Scar and there is not really many ways that mud can get into the areas where it matters. The short-stroke piston will just blow the rest out of the areas where it can actually get in.

May i offer an observation? What the AR-15, Scar and the HK91 have in common is that there is room for the bolt to PUSH OUT debris that is in the locking recess. There is also another guy in YT that did his own mud tests on various rifles and ALL that did well were the ones that featured a multi-lug rotating/Johnson bolt.

The desert landscape makes each shot sound incredible! I also learned that even ammo as high quality as Hirtenberger can still have a dud round.

First you cover the starboard side, flip and cover port side. At 1:40 you "shook it briefly" and alot of mud fell away from the ejection port area. On the x95 you covered portside, flipped then covered starboard. No brief shake, raised and shot and had a failure to extract. Well, no wonder! In any training we cover the ejection port with a stick while they are shooting to simulate a failure for the shooter. The testing for the x95 and the scar is uneven at best. I carried the x95 in my service and had way more mud get in and all around my rifle and she always snapped back to do her job. But! The x95 in USA is very different internally then what is used in the IDF. Must note that. I only felt it fair to point that out. The x95, from Israel not just USA model, is a very reliable rifle. Looks like Arizona, nice

Wow! She did AMAZING! I was questioning its price and wellington boot-stock at first, but now im convinced the scar is worth the money.

I was surprised... I didn’t think this gun would run that well. I was completely wrong. Well done FN... Cool video.

the spent case also seems to eject in a way to clear the mud away from the port.... front end tilts out.....blasts mud away, and then the rear end comes forward, and clears away the mud a 2nd time....right as its about to fall in their i like my 308 ruger m77 MK2 bolt rifle.... and id probably take a AR-10 over the SCAR, just because of weight (and cost) but the scar seems to be a good rifle!

There's something so satisfying about a mud covered shell flying through the air

As an ACR fanboy... I know that this will be a future purchase of mine[cries]. Combined with the maintenance reports out of Battlefield Vegas, both this and the SCAR16 represent the best of both worlds between the AR15 and the AK. It doesn't eat it's own internal parts like the AK, and it has the lightweight handiness and ergonomics of the AR. Still planning a WWSD build, though.

The slow motion mud was really cool looking at around 3:40 ish. I backed it up and watched it again. :) Actually all the slow motion with thick mud is cool.
