Have you ever heard of "muddy colors"? After weaving for awhile you will either experience it yourself or hear of someone else kibbitzing over this specific situation. When you combine colors together in a project, but they don't look clear, you have muddy colors.
Ultimately, the muddy color problem is a contrast problem - meaning your colors are too close together on a grayscale so the eye has trouble distinguishing between them. But I have a few ideas on how to identify and remedy the problem! Please enjoy episode 153, "Muddy Colors".
Do you have a muddy color story? Maybe a weaving project didn't turn out as cleanly or crisply as you hoped for? Share your story in the comments below so we can hear about what colors competed with each other. Happy Weaving!
