Muhammad really liked Joe. It is likely because Joe made a great first impression. Ali called him ugly. Joe responded that Ali should see his sister.

Bugner might have been the best boxer Ali met after his return. That's probably why he respected him and was so complimentary.

Bugner barely won rounds against ali,he didnt pressure enough. Ali respected him and never gave credit to norton. And said that bugner gave him more trouble than him . Every winning fight against norton it was by split decision. A year after this fight, Ali though that he could beat norton easily, but again he got trouble with him.. anyway ali should have retired after thrilla in manila

The LAST fight of Ali's career where he displayed his 1960's talent. The End of Ali's Prime.

actually he couldn't showcase his 1960's speed and skills after exile but he was a bit closer to his peak time on both ken norton second fight and this match, after forman fight he totally didnt want show his speed and skill anymore against forthcoming opponents because his advancing age didnt allow it ,so he paid off it by sacrafice his health 😢

See, Ali was so concerned about all paying fans. "were you pleased with the action?" a first class entertainer who also happened to be the greatest boxer of aaaaall times. And a lot of other great things too 😊🥊how can you not love when two fighters show each other so much respect and love. Not like conor mc cheese or whatever his name is

You stated what I was about to comment on,,, How Ali was concerned that the fans got a good action packed show! Unlike many people who gain success and fame today, Ali cared about people! Love this man!! The 'People's Champ'!

Even Ali predicted it--after beating him in Malaysia. Bugner had skills, but--according to what a boxer ranked at the time told me--he just didn't have the desire. Probably a good thing--it may have saved his brains.

1:07 Ali was famous for making predictions but predicting what other fighters would do was never his strong point. - He predicted that Henry Cooper would beat Floyd Patterson (Cooper was KO'd round 4) - After the first round of the Foreman vs Norton fight, Ali predicted that Foreman wouldn't be able to stop Norton (Foreman stopped Norton in the second round) - Although Bugner went the distance with Ali in 1973, there was nothing in his performance to suggest he was a World Champion in waiting, yet...

On the Norton part, he said if Foreman couldn't destroy Norton in the first few rounds its Norton's fight all the way. Unfortunately Norton was not blessed with a GREAT chin. But he had great boxing ability. Ali also predicted how he would destroy George Foreman at that fight, and during the norton foreman fight Ali keep screaming at Norton to throw straight Rights which he didnt do :(
@ppuh6tfrz646

@@shazmaster No. Ali specifically said after the first round of the Foreman vs Norton fight that Foreman could not destroy Norton. A couple of minutes later it was all over. Then Ali even went on to say in his autobiography that he still felt Norton would have beaten Foreman if Norton had known how much money he would have made from defending the title against Ali, as though becoming world champion on its own wasn't enough of an incentive.

Bugner didn't get the respect he deserved in england ' due to getting a close decision over Henry Cooper as he was coming up. Ali always had good things to say about Bugner. I remember on a visit to england. Ali was on a chat show. And Bugner was mentioned by the show host in a bit of a derogatory manner and Ali was quick to defended Bugner and pointed out his good points as a fighter.

Parkinson's is NOT caused by brain damage or blows to the head. Ali was not mentally debilitated, ONLY physically. if he had become a singer or artist or teacher, he would STILL have Parkinson's. Ali took FAR less punches to the head compared to most heavyweights due to his defensive measures. Joe Frazier caught countless shots to his head. he didn't have Parkinson's. Jerry Quarry got dementia pugilista from boxing, Ali never had any problems with his memory or mind.
