This piece is a dholak solo in a rhythm cycle called Panj Taal Ki Sawari. Its a 15 beat rhythm cycle that emulates the walk of an elephant, and the feelings of the king as he rides on the elephant, in and out of his palace. Muhammad Khan learnt this from a PTV recording of the great Mian Shaukat Hussain, one of the greatest Tabla players of the 20th century, and one of MK's biggest inspirations, right next to Ustad Tari Khan sahib.

Muhammad Khan is veteran Dholak player from Sindh Pakistan. He is amongst the most refined practitioners of the instrument alive in Pakistan today. He has recorded and played live with the countries most loved musicians including Abida Parveen, Ustad Fateh Ali Khan of Hyderabad, Akbar Khamiso Khan, and several others. This includes his work for state radio, television, and his continuing involvement in troupes representing Pakistani culture in various programs and government led initiatives across the world.
