Thanks for posting this! I'm definitely going to install one of this on my X570. Thank you!

I have the new mulch control option and because the fixed baffle blocks the discharge opening, wet grass will build up quickly and clog the opening. If you can't mow dry grass, you're not going to be happy.

I think threaded built in nuts and a long winged bolt. I do like my s100 with pins and straps.

Thank you for this video! I had a lot of questions about the new "MulchControl" feature, and you may have answered every one! Just one new one comes to mind: The switchable MulchControl feature is obviously much easier for going back and forth between side discharge and mulch modes. But how well does it *perform* in both modes? Any noticeable degradation compared to installing the fixed baffle for mulching and removing it for side discharge?

How do these two options compare to using just a mulch *cover?* I'm a mulching newbie but it looks like that would be nearly as quick and easy to install and remove as flipping that lever. I'm guessing there's a downside in mulching performance or everybody would be taking the cheaper route. Does it leave the lawn looking as good as the other two? Thanks!

I have an x530 with a 48 inch deck with the mulcher as shown in the first part of the video. When mulching grass there are "lines" of grass clippings on my lawn no matter how many times i make a pass on my lawn. My neighbor has a regular little craftman rider and mulches perfectly. My question is am i expecting too much out of the performamce of this mulcher?

Typically what causes the “lines” is one of two things. First, you should be cutting no more than ½” off the total height during a single mowing. Rain causes the grass to have a very high moisture content. Mowing more frequently and cutting less of the total length will reduce or eliminate lines and clumping. Second, you must use mulching blades. If not, you needs to switch from the standard blades to a set of mulching blades. The parts department has some options when it comes to these. I hope this helps.

@@cas_trac thanks for the reply. I sharpened my mulching blades yesterday and what a world of a difference!

Can the power flow bagger kit be used with the mulch control system on the 2018 x500?

Can this new mulch control kit be retrofitted to the deck that you first installed the old mulch kit on? My 2007 X500 mower has this old deck. It is an Edge 48" Deck (with Non-Rotatable Wheels).

The Mulch Control Kit requires the new Excel deck and will not install on an older deck style.

The only kit for the X300 is the older one with the permanent mounted baffles.

On the 48A and 54A decks the bagger can be used with MulchControl. On 42A decks, the baffle, part number M173926, must be removed prior to bagger chute installation.

He’s young and probably his first time making a video. Gave him a break, he did fine. He relayed all the important information. Get off your pedestals. Ignorant.
