Painkiller has insane drums and Junna made it look easy, which it's not. Great job Junna. Can't blame you for not knowing a lot from Judas Priest (start 1970s), but actually Judas Priest, I've seen them twice, is metal royalty. They produced live classics like Victim of Changes, Beyond the Realms of Death, Sinner, Freewheel Burning and many many others. Rob Halford is, besides a very nice guy, arguably one of the best metal vocalists we have ever seen and at 70 years old he is still playing with JP. Brian Johnson is another beast. They both sing high notes but Rob is at a level that Brian will never reach, spoken with all due respect. What connects Rob and Brian is that they probably are the nicest singers in the hardrock/metal business. To look into the 1980s live concerts from Judas Priest will certainly broaden your musical horizon I guess. Junna again proves her ability and yes she has that orchestral Moony performance not many drummers have. Another one of those Moony drummers is Pau Villarreal. Tonight in the HoB in San Diego, the US/CA-leg of the Mayday tour starts and they will be on the road for about 5/6 weeks. You will be at one of the gigs. After that they will support the great great Lzzy Hale and The Pretty Reckless on their tour for a month or so and finally doing festivals on which one of them they are on the same bill on the same day as Band Maid. Those people will see the best female rock/metal has to offer. We are in the middle of emergance the New Wave (Potter☺) of Female Hardrock/Metal with other bands like Plush and VOB and many others. Them all can filll any bill at any time!

The drum intro is also present in the original track. It's the opening track of the 1990 album Painkiller. It has been a while since I listened to the original, but I believe she did add quite a bit of her own flavour to the cover. Great job by her as even the flourishes I didn't recognize sounded really good and fitted the song really well.

Great to have a knowledgeable person react to Junna. You respect what she is doing technically and the level of skill required to do so. I know she is Kawaii and at aged 25, it is pleasant not to have a reactor continually ask: "How old is she? 15, 17? , etc." One of my favourite covers she has performed is the Queen song, I Was Born To Love You. Probably not that technical and it does start off fairly easy (well it sounds so) but it progresses into a typical Junna, spectacular. Hear is the link, if it is ok to make a request this way? kzitem.info/news/bejne/rXiF4H6aq4OjrIY&ab_channel=JUNNA i love the ways she launches herself from her seat sometimes. I wonder, if she ever has to make a retake if she misses the seat when she sits back down? LOL 😄

Nana is Kawaii, Junna is an animal on the drums. So she is 25? Anytime I try to find out more about her I get the Junna singer. I estimated that she was/is 26 based on the fact that she said she started playing drums at 15 and in 2019 she said she had been playing for 8 years. First song she learned, Kill the King by Rainbow. I would love to see her cover that now. I have been watching the Girls Rock Band Kakumei promotional youtube channel, but sadly I know next to no Japanese.

This is the earliest Junna video I have found. She is 17/18 in this video and had only been playing drums for 2 or 3 years. kzitem.info/news/bejne/qHiVqnagboGAp6A

Scott Travis was a drummer for a Speed Metal band called Racer X prior to Judas Priest. Painkiller was his first album with Judas Priest and he brought some insane speed to the album. And yes, that drum intro IS in the original song. It was an introduction to the speed and power of Travis and Junna is definately skilled enough for it.

Yoyoka is a blessing. Junna is a goddess! She has been playing for only 10 years. It is kind of hard to get accurate information when Japanese is not your first language, but in a 2019 video Junna said she has been playing drums for 8 years and that was near the end of the year. Her age is 23 to 26 now, she combines cosplay with drumming. She was in Trident and Girls Rock Band Kakumei. So many overly talented female Japanese drummers, I have to ask what is in the water? Junna, Yoyoka, Senri Kawaguchi and Kanade Sato, just to name 4 off the top of my head. Luckily for the male sex we still have Greyson Nekrutman and Caleb H, so our future is not yet extinguished.

it's just an unmeasured accelerando across all limbs (the two parts where you kept saying "the drum fill doesn't match the kick"), and is in the original version - but she added a crescendo as well.

Going back to your Livestream reaction to Asterism, you got a couple of things wrong hahahaha, anyway Haruca is her real name and her stage name is Hal-Ca, the other thing is Mio on drums is the oldest then it's Miyu, and Hal-Ca is the youngest. When this young lady was with her band Trident there was so much arguing because the other ladies could not keep up with Junna and Junna decide to leave the band. Junna has worked on several projects with ex-member of Bridear Mitsuru and Lisa-X and let me tell you they were amazing. They have not posted anything of the live show they did together yet but I did some digging and found a very short part of a song on Mitsuru's channel. Yes the drum intro is in the original and I have to say she does a phenomenal job I'll go as far as to say she is way better than the original, she is a beast on the drum kit like some of guitarists like Haruca, Midori, and Miyako are on the guitar. Oh no you can't and mustn't compare Rob Halford to Brian Johnson, let alone compare AC/DC to Judas Priest one is pure metal and the other hard rock
@GenTzu

I love your videos, but comparing the God of Metal - Rob Halford to Brian Johnson is paramount to a travesty. Judas Priest is the quintessential metal band. An aside Rob Halford did "Painkiller" and "Breaking the Law" with Babymetal. IMHO the Kami band, without any time to practice played both songs better than the original. Would enjoy a collab of Junna with Babymetal. I believe Babymetal could keep up with Junna! 😎

The only thing Junna is adding that stands out to me is the bell. If that's in the original, I don't know it. I like what you said about living in the song. That's definitely what she's doing in every one of her covers and is a good way for musicians to perform.

Junna does a great job on this song but you need to listen to the Lovebites cover of it and how Haruna completely destroys the kit (especially the double kick). It's a thing of beauty.
