Great vid., thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. About CAD projects - I wonder how to create pattern with marked stiching holes? How to check if pieces will match each other after sewing? Do you have experience about this? Regards

Thanks, this is easy to do in CAD. You can design all pattern pieces together as a single project design with stitching holes. Then, make copies and 'trim' the excess design around each individual pattern piece. All of the individual pieces and their stitching holes will be able to fit together as they came from the same base design.

Hi Teran, this video is very interesting thank you! However I can't do it with AutoCAD2023/2024...Is it possible you explain it in AutoCAD(it's still different from nano in the video)...

How did you center the viewport in the middle of the page? It doesn't snap to the middle of the page for me

As mentioned, for the viewport you just select the corners as close as you can to the edge of the layout. In practice, most printers will leave around 10mm of border that cannot be printed anyway.

have a bigger pattern with different single pieces, i created the grid and put it into the pattern, but the problem is, when i wanna add the viewport and type in '1' for the scale, it doesn't work. I can see the whole pattern in the viewport and it doesn't adjust to the grid, i have to zoom in then. But isn't that putting all the measurements off?

There are a few things to troubleshoot here. Start by checking your drawing and the layout are both in the same units which should be millimeters. Then make sure you set your layout page size to be A4 or what your paper your printers prints.

@@TeranAtelier i just checked, both the model layout and P1 layout have the same units, and the P1 Layout also is A4

@@TeranAtelier i also just typed in 10 for scale, and then it 'zooms' in like it does in this video. But i don't know if this will be the right size and have the right measurements then

@@TeranAtelier i also have another problem: i can't move the viewport into the middle of the page. I can't find anything that makes it snap to the middle Edit: i figured the problem out. For some reason, nanocad still measured in mm even tho i changed the units to cm before starting with the pattern. So the pattern was way too small, that's why it was completely inside the viewport instead of just the grid of the A4 page

@@dukehorndrake5525 Good to hear you managed to fix it. For the viewport you just select the corners as close as you can to the edge of the layout. In practice, most printers will leave around 10mm of border that cannot be printed anyway.
