Most modern agriculture today uses one type of crop planted over a large area that is harvested once a year and replanted the next. iSEE researchers are exploring how planting several perennial crop species together in the same field may increase wildlife diversity and soil fertility while reducing requirements for fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides and runoff from fields.
