Sometimes its the simplest little things that help so much and these little ideas are worth passing on . So while moving my Simpson 260 series 8 Multimeter I had snagged the + probe wire on the work bench and broke the probe wire that goes into the meter I yanked the wire right out of the end that plugs into the meter . The meter shown in the video is another one I used for the video and it has good probes on it. These are a socket end surrounded by plastic . Looking around I did not have another set of probes for my favorite analog Multimeter the Simpson 260-8 I did have a spare low cost set that cost about 8 dollars from Ebay but these have pins on the end that are also surrounded in plastic . This type of Probe is much more common than the ones used by the Simpson 260-8 . So I wondered if I could make a set of adapters to use the more common, cheaper and more available probes with the test leads that I already had. This little short helpful hint video is the result of this idea . I did one more little thing to these adapters using a toothpick I put a very tiny amount of silicon grease ... (vaseline works too) in and on each adapter to help prevent that green copper corrosion from forming use the tiniest amount you don't want to get grease where it is not wanted . I put it on then wiped them with a paper towel .
