Verhoestraete has remained true to its roots in metalworking while significantly diversifying its production capabilities in response to changing customer demands. The installation of a 28-meter Voortman plate processing system, including a Voortman V304 and V310, is part of this evolution. "The largest plates we process are 12 meters long, so it's convenient to move all your work from thin to thick," explains Robby Delys.
This system can automatically drill, tap, mill, plasma cut, bevel cut, and oxy-fuel cut across various materials and thicknesses. Previously, these tasks were done manually at separate workstations, causing inefficiencies. Now, with the Voortman machine, everything is done in one system, enhancing productivity, efficiency, and quality. "We have made significant strides in process flexibility and reducing order lead times," adds Stéphane Verhoestraete.
