+Rick Ever (“The Greatest Poster”) I think all the effects are already programmed in some software for the whole solo. Then he just has to hit the notes. At some points you can hear a Whammy effect but you don't see him pushing the pedal up or down... technology!
@OmegaPhoenix42
8 жыл бұрын
+Rick “The Greatest Poster” Ever Hit behind the nut, then use an octave up pedal with a bit of delay to the effect kicking in to get the rocket swoop effect. When he does a similar thing at 0.33 I believe he is making a harmonic at 5th fret on the d string and then octave upping it again (you can catch the effect kicking in just before while he is still pick scraping).

For a guitarist, this solo is not hard , as well as all of guitar solos of Muse. I play guitar for 8 years, and now I used to play instrumental songs from Guthrie Govan,Paul Gilbert, and Yngwie Malmsteen. The solo of Muse songs is just feels like 1 percent fragmnent of those guitar instrumental songs But I don't underestimate Matt. I m sure he is able to play even the hardest guitar solos ever. But as the man who should keep his vocals, piano skill, songwriting, and guitar skills in absolutely prime, this is pretty amazing

Who else in here knows guitar and is baffled by the comments section? Do any of you people know any other guitarists? This is literally what it sounds like when someone is practicing scales half speed. It's not even well written, it's just a fucking scale.What bothers me the most is he has this face like he killed it afterwards. I know people are going to get pissed off saying that music is subjective, but this is objectively bland, unimaginative, and dead easy to any 1+ year guitarist. Why zoom in?
@viansinge
5 жыл бұрын
I'm a 14-year guitarist and ive always preferred basic solos to shred useless shit. Most solos in the history of rock music are based on scales, why would that be a problem now? I think people like the way Matt added extra effects, random high pitched notes with the whammy. It really brings something new, creating a "sci fi" atmosphere which I like a lot. I don't consider myself as a genius on guitar but it is really hard for me to play that solo so smoothly. And I would shit myself playing it if front of 10,000 people.
@TheMausymaus
5 жыл бұрын
@@viansinge I'm not even saying shredding is what he should be doing or that it's better than slow solos. A well written solo is a well written solo. Just look at Eric Clapton, he doesn't need to play fast to have emotion. Trust me, with any effort in a few years you will be way past this guy, and wouldn't be afraid to do this in front of people. I guess I'm just bothered by a fully grown, high paid musician doing nothing to improve his craft and doing the bare minimum he can get away with which is what I'm seeing here. You see this in every genre and it always bothers me. I wish more people got into guitar for the music's sake and not for other reasons just to float along getting overpaid, it's classic selling out.
